MEDEWTYSENU SAID

I have been out of the JW's for 13+ years though I have felt compelled to return recently (it's not going so well). It's not that I believe in the WT dogma, quite the opposite in fact but I have my reasons.

I was known as Awen on the JWN boards. My new name is Egyptian and means "Voice of the Two Names" which is in relation to Yahveh (Jehovah) Yah eShua (Jesus) and trying my best to praise their names and make known the grandeur of those names to all who would listen.

I suppose I should give an introduction as well.
My given name is Morgan and I live in South Carolina (on the coast somewhere). I was converted when I was 19 years old though my family had some contact with JW's while I was growing up (usually negative contact). In order to keep this post short I'll just give the highlights.

I was baptized at the 1991 Lover's of Freedom District Convention, Columbia, SC on July 19, 1991 and left in March of 1999 because I felt I was wrongly disfellowshipped and I had doctrinal issues with the Org. I was Dfed because I allowed an unmarried couple that I was friends with stay with me instead of living on the street. I had also committed fornication with the female but because it wasn't premeditated (in the Elder's opinion) I was just going to receive private counsel so long as I kicked the couple out which was impossible as they male is my former landlord's nephew. I also told the Elders that I had doubts as to whether what the Society taught was actually "The Truth" and needed to find out for my self which I felt could not be done while inside the Org. They disagreed of course but chose to Disfellowship me not based upon Apostasy (which wasn't really discussed) but on the possibility of defaming God's name if it became known I was harboring an unmarried couple in my home. Kinda ironic that I was DFed for this considering how the WTS handles sexual abuse cases and covers it up. It must be noted that I told the Elders myself, no one told on me.

Suffice to say I left the Org and haven't been back until recently though I am having some doubts about this as it seems from the Elder's behavior I am not very welcome.

Hi Medewty,

I totally agree with you that the Name of God and His Son is not Jehovah and Jesus. When the angel told Mary "You shall call his name", he was speaking to a Jewish girl and he would have spoken in her language, not Greek or some other. I use the names Yahweh and Jeshua.

So happy to meet you. I am looking forward to hearing more about everyone here. I haven't posted much on JWN lately because there weren't subjects I had a thought on. I really enjoy the more spiritual things rather than just small talk.

I will post my story on another post.
