But today my lower right back feels like someone punched me. It hurts a lot and I can’t even lean back on the chair. My back pain is not better Yet, its worse now because of the regular pain and the injection site pain. Oh well maybe it needs to build up the steroid in my system?

I'd like to say, yes, maybe that is it... but I have no idea, lol. Zoe, you should call and tell them, just to be sure it is normal and possible side effect. At the very least, they can reassure you that it should not last long, and is normal... so you don't have to waste energy worrying about it... or they can advise you on what you should do about it now, if it is not so normal.

I'm glad you were able to connect with the doctor and feel at ease with him.

Peace to you, Zoe, and don't be afraid to give them a call!

Zoe...

I don't have anything like you have that bad in any way but...I had a cortisone shot a couple times in my foot and it took a full week before I felt the full affect of the relief from pain.....

Maybe a few more days..

Love, your sister and fellow slave of Christ, Kim

Sorry to hear about your pain Zoe, I hope it eases up soon for you.

Things here are calm, although I can feel myself watching hubby for any potential sign of trouble. We are managing to joke about that.

I feel better today, not as much pain in the injection site. I am a bit more mobile and not as much in pain today in my back...not sure if its the steroid injection working or the Advil I took for the pain where the injection was given LOL I am hoping for some pain relief and even a little bit is so appreciated.

Loz!! I know you must be going through a really hard time now worrying about the Love of your life. Please take care of yourself too.

May I ask what kind of meals you are eating to reduce the weight and to have healthier food? I ask because I need some inspiration to do the same thing.

Glad to hear that pain is less Zoe, pain is so wearing it really is.

Hubby and I joined Slimming World (Extra Easy programme) 3 weeks ago to help him lose weight as per direction from our GP. So far I've lost 7.5lbs and hubby's lost 11lbs. Fluid tablets are obviously helping hubby lose more. Mostly we are cooking from scratch with fruit and veg being Free food as well as most meat (without fat) and fish. It requires planning and only using Low Cal spray instead of oil, and with very limited dairy and bread products per day. Once you get your head around it and the 'Syns' I am finding it manageable to be fair. We have invested in a Tefal Actifry for cooking also.

If you google their main website and also SW recipes from individuals, there is lots of info online.

Loz x

Dear Zoe, mornin'... and sorry for your pain. Steroid injections don't work on ME, at ALL (and I have a great fear of steroids of ANY kind anymore, for unrelated reasons). Lidocaine injections work GREAT... but only last about 8 hours, after which the pain is worse ('cause I do a whole lotta stuff while I have no pain and then pay for it when the med wears off). Percocet is LOVELY... but a narcotic... so I won't recommend that to you (well, not officially, anyway).

My brother has severe RA and is on Enbrel, which he says helps a great deal. I'm not familiar with its properties/safety (I usually look drugs up because of my own history with "side effects"), but have you tried that? It's a once per week injection and the only thing that helps him through, sometimes.

There's also that herb by the name we won't mention. Many folks swear by that. That DID work for me, 'cept it required "often" use, so had to let that go (simply no time for it).

I am very sorry that your vessel is having to endure this. May it not always be so for you... or for any who suffer from pain.

Peace to you, dear lady!

Your servant, sister, and a slave of Christ,

Shel

Hey Loz thanks for the diet info. Yes Its the same for all diets I guess, you must cut portions and eat veggies and lean protein and cut down on carbs and sugar. I have to get my head around it and do it again. I sit so much and get zero exercise so I have trouble losing weight.

Aguest, yes everything seems to have side effects and is not good for you. Chronic pain never goes away so taking drugs is just too hard on the body. I have tried everything they will give me and nothing works. I would love some Percocet but my doctor won't give it to me. To addictive.
I tried that other "medicine" that isn't as bad for you as the pharma drugs and I hate how it makes me feel. I cannot stand the dopey feeling and it makes my limbs and whole body feel like I have a ton of lead on them. My head gets foggy and I can't concentrate. It makes me sleepy. It would only be f\good for me before bed so I sleep.

I really didn't want to take these steroid shots but I thought I better give it a go and see if it works. But so far in the 8 years I have been living with pain nothing works but prednisone or morphine and of course I can't use that everyday.

Loz today I made Hungry Girls version of Vegetable Lo Mein for my supper later. It tastes delicious. Its mostly stir fried veggies (no fat spray fried) and Shirataki noodles which are tofu noodles and have 20 calories. You can add chicken breast if you want for protein.

Here is the recipe
http://www.hungry-girl.com/show/chinese-food-veggie-so-low-mein-recipe

Also I bought some no fat thin sliced deli turkey and a can of tuna today and plan to take lettuce leaves and lettuce cups stuffed with the lean meat.

Hope you are feeling better Zoe.

I have spent the last couple days spending all of my tips (and then some) winterizing my boys. Winter just kind of slapped us in the face (literally, it has been - 20) this past long weekend. We have boots, coats, mitts, hats, new long sleeve shirts and sweaters, and new shovels (since my boys have taken over the snow shoveling this year and did their first stint this weekend. They did a great job and did not complain! Good boys!). Last week I got my snow tires put on and the heat is working (again) in the van, so we are good to go!

Hope everyone else had a good weekend.

Peace to you all,
your sister and servant, and a slave of Christ,
tammy

I got a new computer. Well, not new new, but new for me. My son's PC was still under warranty and it died last month. So I had to send it in (which took a month). Since it took that long and we knew that up front, I got him a new computer (he contributed all his b-day money), and when his computer was repaired (it is less than a year old), I would get that. Since my mac was dying (and I have called my mac unpleasant names these past couple weeks). So today the computer was ready, and here I am on a PC after YEARS of using a mac. It is disorienting, lol. Plus, it sits a little lower than my mac, so I feel like I need a much lower chair.

Anyway, disorienting and all, it is still cool to be on a new computer ; )

Peace!

What I wanna know is whether WE look any different on yer new 'puter, dear Tec (peace, luv!). I mean, do we look different, from an "apple" POV... than we do from a "PC" POV?

Avatarily speaking, of course!

Peace... and great for you (and dear sonny boy!).

Shellamar, on her own... and probably needing to go to sleep now 'cause that didn't even make sense to ME - LOLOLOL!

That makes sense to me. It was one of the first things I wanted to check out, lol. But we look the same. My mac screen was more square though, and the PC monitors are more like a widescreen tv. But other than that, all is the same. (although, this is a new monitor, so everything is clearer and more defined, more advanced) Your avatar flies faster ; )

Peace to you!

It's an interesting avatar, isn't it (peace, luv!)? While it's meant to be a "phoenix" (which I LOVE, because I can kinda relate)... I sometimes have to catch myself from thinking, "Hey, wait, THAT looks like a fiery... flying..."

And you know where I go with the rest of it, yes? LOLOLOL!

Things that make you go, "Hmmmm...." - LOLOL!

Peace, chile'!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shel
