A thread on jwn got me thinking about some of the things the GB calls themselves:

"God's channel of communication on earth"
"God's spokeperson"

Someone has asked what would be a good rebuttal if one was asked if they believe the above regarding the GB. I was thinking that the best rebuttal would simply be the truth. Didn't know what the truth was though, until I heard... are these not simply various ways for the GB to call themselves the Word of God?

"God's mouthpiece" = "Word of God"
"God's channel of communication" = "Word of God"
"God's spokesperson" = "Word of God"

Just another subtle way of calling themselves the Word of God (Christ), making them another false christ... and no one sees; not even them, I think.

P.S> Just a thought as to those not even 'seeing it". I have come to realize how may actually do see and understand that they call themselves "A Christ" and they do it ANYWAYS. They have proven who they belong to and who their Father is. It is sad but true.

The WBT$ Governing Popes need a 2/3rds vote..
To decide what Gods going to say..
Which means the WBT$ GB Popes don`t unanimously agree..
About what God`s message will be..

The WBT$ Governing Popes may later decide God Changed his Mind..
That will also need a 2/3 vote to get passed..

My rebuttal would be..

Yet, WE know that Christ, the Word of God... is the Truth:

John 8:32, 36
John 14:6
John 17:17; Hebrews 13:12

The are TRULY the "scribes and Pharisees" who "seat themselves in the seat of Moses." Moses was the mediator between God and Israel as to the Law Covenant. After him, only ONE could take that seat: Christ, the Word of God, who is the mediator between ALL of mankind, Israel AND the nations... as to the NEW Covenant.

They are imposters on ALL levels, dear one, including what you have brought out here.

May JAH and Christ allow all those who wish to hear when we share these truths with them. Lives depend on it.

We must PRAY for that, dear ones... and that those on their way in are "snatched out of the fire" before they do... and get burned!

Yes, this concerns me and of course we have to leave it with Jah and his son, but I remember how difficult it felt when I disagreed with their teachings. The internal dichotomy of hearing the Spirit, and trusting it as opposed to trusting those who claimed to be accurately representing that Spirit. The terrible fear of going against the Spirit by going against them must cause anguish for so many in there still.

Is it just me, or does the use of the word "governing body" have a sexual connotation? The sexual connotation I'm referring to is known as "bondage," among other things, and it involves a dominant and a submissive player. In the case of the Watchtower, the bondage is literal bondage, akin to slavery, that the WTBTS imposes upon the "great crowd" of pigeons whose lives have been sacrificed for the financial benefit of the real, anonymous "master" of the Watchtower. The bondage is both mental and physical; the mental aspects include threats of judicial committee action, and the imposition of feelings of guilt that one is not really doing enough to be worthy of admission into the "new system." The physical aspect is borne by the children who were unfortunate enough to be born into the Watchtower cult. In my time, saying "no" to field service was the same as saying "yes" to a beating from your parents.

I don't believe that the governing body is the real power behind the WTBTS. There is someone, unknown to almost anyone, making immense profits from this hogwash.

Greed and the lust for power is what really runs the WTBTS.

I hear you on the bondage aspect, especially thinking of slavery of the r/f to the wts. The system, perhaps every bit as much or more than the GB.

Someone posted something about the wts having a life of its own now, being so divided up, each part independent of the other... a conglomerate (is that what that is called?)

I don't know enough about how the wts operates, but that made sense to me.

That's so close to the truth, it makes me shudder, dear One (peace to you!). I can honestly say that when I looked into Carey Barber's eyes, I did not see a greedy, powerful man... at the time. I did see the remnants of one. At best, I expected some kind of look of agreement, perhaps acceptance, maybe even kindred recognition (because of the "anointing"). At worst... maybe a look of stubborness, perhaps defiance, even animosity.

What I saw, though, caused my heart to skip some beats... and not in a GOOD way. I saw a man whose eyes said he felt he'd been cheated... and I discerned that it was by someone HE knew... and who no longer trusted ANYONE... and also knew that I would see that he was an imposter. Summed up, his eyes said that he knew he had sold his soul to the Devil... and that he knew I would see it. Indeed, he could barely look me in MY eyes.

As the realization of this hit me... I heard that what I was seeing was the look of a man who had had nowhere else to go... and no one else to go away to... and knew it... and so had literally sold himself to the WTBTS, first for prominence and power... and now in order to not be tossed out on the street with nothing... no food, no clothing, and no shelter... because that is what would have happened to him had he not gone along with all that he had. And would if he did not do so now. And at his age, he couldn't afford to do that.

I knew as I heard it that it was the truth. And I felt so horrible... about him... and for him.





Sadly, yep. And I think there is at least one... if not a couple/few more on the GB... but not all... who are on someone's payroll.

It occurs to me that WT may be a case of the tail wagging the dog.

Consider: How many vehicles (delivery trucks, CO's cars, forklifts, etc.) does WT buy, all told? Enough to make quite a hefty profit for the vendor(s). What about insurance of all sorts? Immense profits there as well. Real estate transactions? Think of all the things WT buys, including services, and then recall that there are very many "brothers" who have made sizeable fortunes rendering these services to WT through the years; and it's not just money, there's the matter of fame, and the matter of power and influence.

I think it's come to the point where those who profit from WT's existence are not going to let the operation fold, it's too lucrative. It's not about salvation to them, or religion, or even about improving people's lives; it's all about a ready-made market and developing that market (global expansion).

The "GB" and the "F&DS" will be released from their servitude in the event that religion loses its tax-exempt status, but not until. Sad ones like Carey Barber had their chance to leave before it was too late, but didn't have enough faith in the God of their earlier beliefs to make good their escape. The rank and file publishers have no idea of the real situation. When it becomes apparent, the majority of them *will* abandon the organization; they will see it for the hollow shell that it is.

Old thread (we brought it over from the previous forum, which is why each post has the poster's name at the top of each in bold, as 'so and so said')... but worth bumping for anyone who might need to see...
