Quote:
It is the end of capitalism what we are experiencing.
Maybe that's not such a bad thing, dear ANOMOS (peace to you!). "Who knows"? I do know... and it's not that hard to corroborate... that civilizations, empires, even entire societies... come... and go. Interestingly, the ones that have seemed to survived are the ones that, until the last century and this new one, knew little or nothing about capitalism.
Like most things political, religious, or capital related, laissez-faire is not necessarily a GOOD thing. In terms of business/capitalism, maybe. In terms of mankind in general, maybe not so much. Why? Two very closely related reasons:
1. Greed; and
2. You can't have rich... without poor.
In some folks' minds, you can't be on top, if you're on the bottom. And so, the prophecy is repeatedly fulfilled: MAN... DOMINATES MAN... to HIS (mankind's) OWN injury. It's happened MANY times before... and will continue... so long as man is in charge. Because, well, we're ALL imperfect... aren't we? And there are those among us whose imperfections allow them to believe that kindness is WEAKNESS... and so will advantage of kindness, even run OVER it... for their own end.
War won't stop it. Bombs, even nuclear ones... won't stop it. Violence begets violence. But so long as there ARE folks who consider love, peace, kindness and such WEAKNESS... they WILL attempt to dominate. For now, though, war is the only way to hold them at bay... but that isn't REALLY working, is it?
Among man the rule stills applied, dear one: NOT the "golden" rule... but the "he who has the gold MAKES the rules," rule. And what greater power is THAT... than to make the rules? Because that allows you to slant to YOUR advantage and that of YOUR friends... and against everyone else.
But, please: bring on the man... or men (or women) that you think can remedy this. The entire world pants for it.
Your servant and a slave of Christ,
Shellamar
