Hello dear Loz,
I'm of the same mind as Shelby. I have only made it clear quite recently as to definite burial not cremation.
I really don't want a big deal either. No more money than necessary. Although my whole life as a JW I had plans on being cremated, and being raised with the end so close and never having to die, I did not make plans of any kind. And we have always opted out on life insurance for that very reason as a witness thinking why would I need it. I was told it was a lack of faith to have insurance, lol.
Not being realistic that even an unforeseen accident could happen at anytime.
And being self employed most of our lives, we didn't have a 401k or death policy.
So it has only been recently that we have been working on this.
I just had this conversation with my dad last week as to his wishes because I would be dealing with a JW elder brother who would want the cheapest, quickest route ( cremation) and my dad is against it.
For us personally, we are at the stage of just having life insurance enough to cover everything We need. Will work on the details further.
So, just simple, put me in the ground, and move on. I know its temporary.
Hope this helps you as well as the others have,
Love to you Justmom
