The November 15th, 2013 copy of the Watchtower magazine mentions the Man of Assyria attacking and for everyone to be ready to obey the elders instructions even if it might seem strange. I know they have done this before but nothing came of it. I hope they aren't preparing some Koolaid solution.

My thoughts are it will be something to do with money, give the WT all their belongings. sell all the Kingdom Halls so the WT and the governing body can take off lol

Also who is the "Assyrian"?

The quote from page 20, para 17.
Elders who are reading this article can draw some useful conclusions from the account we have just considered: (1) The most practical step that we can take to prepare for the coming attack of “the Assyrian” is that of strengthening our faith in God and helping our brothers to do the same. (2) When “the Assyrian” attacks, the elders must be absolutely convinced that Jehovah will deliver us. (3) At that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from Jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint. All of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not. (4) Now is the time for any who may be putting their trust in secular education, material things, or human institutions to adjust their thinking. The elders must stand ready to help any who may now be wavering in their faith.

Notice that the elders' ability to 'save' anyone, is dependent upon their own faith that 'Jehovah' will deliver them.

Knowing what we know about the faith of the elders... that sounds pretty risky as it is, lol.

But yes, listen to the elders/wts, no matter what they tell you to do... or else you will die. You don't have to understand what they're telling you to do... just do it.

Dangerous, and irresponsible. Putting more power into the hands of men, over other men sure, but also over women who already have no power in this hierarchy as it is.

(oh, and quite honestly, I am sure "the assyrian" will be whoever they say, and you just have to believe THAT too)

Yeah sure!Ill just follow blindly the drunken elders that keep giving sister rotten crotch "sheperding" calls and covering for child molesters.Whats that brother the need is great in scamland and any donation would be appreciated by the worldwide brotherhood?I dont think so!No more money and no more being quiet about the filth!Cant wait till they go to prison! >:)
