That sounds bittersweet Zoe. Try and take things one day at a time, who knows what's round the corner that might sort things for you?

I'm packing cos we're off to Yorkshire to stay with friends for the weekend. There's a Caribbean BBQ party organised for Saturday night. I love BBQs!

Happy weekend everyone...

Loz x

One of the best pieces of advice anyone ever gave me, Zoe, was at a difficult time in my life. A wise friend...actually an Anglican nun, said "Sometimes the best you can do is to keep on keeping on".

It sounds trite, but it is right. And then, keeping on keeping on is exactly what you need to do.

And I am quite sure you can. And if you can mamnage to do it with good grace, you are likely to avoid a lot of nastiness that might otherwise happen.

Moving house is one of the most stressful things you can do. It's well known. And of course it is stressful for you with your illness, and having to depend on John for so much, and it's stressful for him, because any carer is sometimes stretched to their limit, and the stress of the move just adds to it.

If you can think of it as keeping on keeping on,...and also make use of another maxim, "always make the best of it", sometimes you can turn awakward times round with a smile and maybe a joke.

"Make the best of it" is one of the most useful tricks we can have up our sleeve!

Yes Char, very good advice and I always do that, always. Thank you for helping keep my chin up.

In this case I might have to keep on going alone this time as things have taken a terrible turn because John did something really awful to me and now there might not be a way to fix it. Pretty depressing but I am still hoping for a good outcome.

Of course you are, dear Zoe (mornin' and peace to you, dear one!). So ask for that. Just... ask. And you NOW know WHO to ask. Ask him... then have FAITH that you WILL receive what you asked (hoped) FOR. That really is how it works, luv. Really.

The GREATEST of love and PEACE to you!

Good morning Zoe....

Good advice from everyone. Chin up, stay positive, ask our Lord for his will to be done as he knows the whole situation and why and the best outcome for your situation. Then put faith in that request and...

" Let go, let God" handle it.

Sometimes even if we see things not going at first the way " we wanted it" he still know the best safest outcome for us even if we don't see it coming at first.

Take care today. Glad the weather is sunny for you!

Aw... the little boy next door came over to ask my youngest to play. The little one next door is 5 or 6, and he loves playing with mine (who is 11), so mine isn't always so keen on it, lol. But a couple of weeks ago I sent him over despite his groaning, because there are quite a few neighborhood kids that all play together, and i knew he would have fun. Which of course he did.

Anyway, I told the little guy that my son was sick, but he would play in the next couple of days. And he just came back with a get well package... with homemade cards and stuff, and cookies. My son's eyes just lit up when he saw that.

I just wanted to share because that was SO sweet : )

Peace,
tammy

What a COOL thing!! I wonder if it might have been one of his own "sick" boxes... that he chose to share (versus his mom putting a totally new one together). Either way... SWEET... from him AND/OR mom!

Peace and thanks for sharing that, dear tec!

Oh, I'm thinking mom did have a hand in it... but it was personal to my son, in the card, and what was said, so I think they put it together themselves. So there was that card, and a paper airplane on really cool paper, and two packs of "Dad's" cookies. (do you have that brand in the States?)

She usually stands on her front porch to watch her little one when he comes over to talk to my son, so she certainly knew what was going on.

Peace,
tammy

Awwww

How sweet!

Thank you for sharing this. I hope he is on the mend!?!?

Poor thing! I hate it when my kids are sick no matter how big they still are.

My youngest is 6'4"... LOL and the last time he was sick ( couple weeks ago) I have him ice, a cold towel for his head and snuggled up to him in bed and told him I was so sorry his head hurt so bad.
He said thank you, MOM!

So no matter how big they get...your still " their mama".

LOL... that is so cute, JM, about your 6'4 baby.

Mine is definitely feeling better. I've been giving him gravol to help, and he is to stay off games and computers because they make that vertigo worse, but he is doing better.

Peace,
tammy

That is the sweetest thing that boy and his Mom did for your boy. Don't seem to do things like that much anymore.

I am still unpacking and John is still bringing things over from the other house, almost finished and then we have to clean it and repair stuff. I have been in this place for over 2 days and he still didn't install grab bars for the toilet and shower, plus I don't have a detachable shower head or shower curtain and bath seat installed. So I am camping still, peeing in a bucket and sponge bathing. I am feeling pretty grungy. He on the other hand is having a shower and has had 3 so far here.

I hate being handicapped, it's so much trouble setting things up for us gimps. I am feeling very sorry for myself right now :((
It's Friday, I am going to have a glass of wine and relax.

Now, THAT, you might not wanna take personal, dear Zoe (peace, luv!). I have come to learn in my little over half a century of life that the mens don't always see/handle/jump on/perceive/grasp the whole "I have someone to care for hygenically... or otherwise... besides myself" thing - LOLOLOL! Like dads who can't/don't think to change baby diapers. LOTS of 'em out there - they just don't THINK of it! And I know, I know... SO hard for us girlz to perceive! LOLOLOL!

I am sure you've already asked him, but maybe ask another way? "Can I ask you a favor, John? I KNOW you've been SO busy what with moving and all, but it would REALLY mean a lot to me... HELP me... if I could get the grab bars put in. I'm a girl and so I really need to get in the shower/use the toilet now. You know how it is!" And of course he does... because NO man likes a grungy girl! LOLOLOL!

I KNOW you are tired, and frustrated, and irritated, m'luv - us girlz's patience isn't very long when it comes to things like this. BUT... you might get your bars AND avoid another (unnecessary) spat. And given what you two are going through just now, that might be a GOOD thing. Flies with honey, girl!

Now, of course, if you don't want/NEED a fly just now... well, g'head: swat away, chile'! LOLOLOLOL!

Peace... and I hope you get yer bars and soon, luv! 'Cause I think I'm startin' to smell your "ripe" butt all the way over hear - LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL! Just kidding, luv, just kidding!

YOUR servant and a slave of Christ,

Shel

Okay, ladies, LISTEN UP (and peace to you all!):

ASK...

OR... don't EVEN expect to receive a doggone THANG! FEW men anticipate OUR needs, my dear sisters! They're just not GEARED that way!*

Matter of fact, you may need to ask... A COUPLE/FEW times! Of ALL of your "husbandly owners"! LOLOLOL! 'Cause, remember: JAH and Christ desribe themselves as "he"! LOLOLOLOLOL!

Do you SEE what I am sayin', ladies? DON'T get frustrated. ASK! BUT... BE PATIENT! The mens, whether physical OR spiritual... don't just jump/respond/answer as quickly as WE might/do/want them to! LOLOLOLOL!

Peace... truly!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shellama

*I once took my daughters and two of girlfriends out for lunch and they spent the greater time whining and moaning about the husbands/fiances/boyfriends in their lives. At some point I asked them: what do YOU "want" from the man in your life? And they all told me! When they finished, though, I could only respond: "You don't want HUSBANDS. You want WIVES!" LOLOLOLOL! While their are exceptions to EVERY rule, most men are husbands, dear ladies... NOT wives! LOLOLOLOL! Not fair, then, to expect them to be (wives)...
