Happy Father's day to all the men on the site also!

My husband had to cancel his golf because of the rain, but we are going to see Superman in an hour (didn't get to go last night after all), so that should help make up for it ; ) He is super excited to see it, lol.

Sorry your lobster was not up to par, Zoe, but glad your evening went well, and that you kept your guest safe!

Peace,
tammy

Ooh, ooh... pictures, dear Zoe - like the dear Sher'f posts from time t'time (peace to you, both!). And GOOD FORM, not letting your guest drive home. Glad you were able to "reason" with him, for HIS sake... and YOUR peace of mind!

his kids didn't call him so that depressed him a bit.

Not that any other reason would be better, dear one, but I hope it's NOT because they are JWs. SO sad that those people teach AGAINST the command to "honor" one's father and mother. The ONLY command with a promise ("that it may go well with you")... and they nullify it by taking issue that a day is set out specifically for that purpose. Just because people choose to make one day PARTICUARLY about a parent DOESN'T mean they don't honor them any OTHER day, if not EVERY other day.

JWs overstep this command, however, in two ways: one, by prohibiting those who wish to TO so honor their parents with a special day... but also by teaching them to profane the "fast" of God, which says to NOT hide oneself from one's flesh (kin, relative... and so certainly a parent/child).

Although they CLAIM they are not beholden to the Law (and its "commands"), and so perhaps believe themselves relieved of this command and JAH's fast... the fact that they adhere... and try to force others to adhere... to SOME parts of it (i.e., no tatoos, women "unclean" during menstruation, no cross-dressing/women wearing men's clothing, etc.)... binds them to ALL of it.

So, their thing of having folks put the "Society" before their own parents... is the ungodly pratice of "corban"... and their having parents give to the "Society" the inheritance owed their children is a form of "hatred" (FOR their children). Shunning... is a form of "hiding oneself from one's flesh."

Again, not saying (and even hoping) that none of this is dear hubby's situation, dear Zoe (and you do NOT need to explain anything further - that wasn't my point or intent. Just saw the situation as an opportunity to share with those who are aware of JWs tendency to do this (not honor their parents/children; hide themselves from their own flesh through shunning) what it TRULY is.

Again, peace to you... and please give dear hubby our BEST regards, for this day and every day!

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

Shellama

Hope everyone had a good day today.

Hope all you dads enjoyed your day!
Yes, that dang WT took all of the special days to our loved ones away.

I had an amazing day with my dad. He is not well and it took a lot out of him, but he was so excited to see us. Had a great visit.
Glad to be home safe. Love to you all,
Justmom g:)

Just wanted to say good morning to everyone. It's one of those days that I slept too long and lost the cool of the day to get any work done outside; and now everything is just 'off'. Oh well, there may be tomorrow.

Hi everyone and good afternoon. I was so tired yesterday, recovering from having company I guess? I went to bed at 10 PM and got up at 10 AM this morning, that was a lot of sleep, Wow.

I hope you all are having a good day, its a nice warm one here today for a change.

So I am spring cleaning today. Just finished my teenage son's room. (moms will all understand) So yeah, that took a couple hours. Am taking a breather, then moving on to the next room. I am going room by room. It does not help that during spring cleaning, I have to do the normal cleaning that I have not done in like 2 weeks, lol.

Peace!
