Enjoy your donuts and coffee.

Quick good morning for me. Going to do my fourth training shift in a minute, for a few hours. Might go see Man of Steel tonight though ; ) I'm surprised Paul hasn't seen it yet and told us about it.

Peace!

Yup gonna do it! Heading out with my hubby to have donuts and coffee.

Wait, NO... DON'T do it, dear 'Mo... well, now, wait a sec... now that you mention it, donuts and coffee DOES sound pretty GOOD, girl! I can't even remember the last time I HAD a donut (love 'em but keep forgetting they're out there until, say, shopping at night... and just can't bring myself to buy and eat one after, say, 2pm - I like 'em FRESH - LOLOL!)...

But... yeah, I think I'll put on a pot of (decaf) java... and send dear hubby out fer sum donuts! The cake-y kind for me, so cross yer fingers for me, my sistah - LOLOLOL!

Peace... and try to stay to under half a dozen each - LOLOLOL!

Shellama, on her own, and knowing that, like Lays' potatoe chips, sticking to "just one" donut can be tough... so changed her 'order' to half a dozen donut HOLES - LOLOLOL!

Hi everyone, I am slow getting going today, my pain and mobility is bad today, and we have company coming tonight so I better get some advil out so I can function.

It is a gorgeous day here, sunny warm and all the birds are singing happily. My hubby just cut the lawn so everything is very pretty.
My guest is bringing fresh Lobster tails for our supper. I will make rice and a salad or maybe baked potatoes, not sure yet.
Has anyone cooked lobster tails before, he says he boils them, I prefer grilling them but I can't grill cause our BBQ is up on the higher deck level and I can't walk up there. The new house will have a deck that is all one level so I can cook again. My John hates hates cooking, grilling, but doesn't hate eating lol. I will have to ask my guest to grill it or just to go with boiling it. Boiled lobster sounds boring somehow. I would hate to waste such a possible treat.

Have a great day everyone

Mmm...supper is sounding good at yours Zoe. We're just off out with friends to 'The Curry Mile' ...pretty much as described, basically a long road in Manchester full of delightful, mostly Asian food restaurants. Hubby loves curries, I like them ok but not too hot, lol. Sorry I can't help re the lobster cooking...

Loz x

I never used to like curry but now I love it, though not to hot because then I feel hot and sweaty lol.
Enjoy your night out Loz.

I rarely go to restaurants anymore, John doesn't like me to go in with my electric wheelchair (no idea why other than its bulky) so he has to push me in the manual one and that's too much trouble so we just don't go. He is a bit of a hindrance for me when it comes to going out places but I have no one else to depend on so I have to deal with it :-(
We didn't go to the restaurant yesterday after we had our hair done because we discovered it is not handicap accessible, there is stairs to get to the seating area and washrooms and no ramp. I should report them since it's a law that restaurants have to be handicap accessible here, but since I rarely go there I guess that would be just mean. When we lived in that town we went there every Thursday in the summer but I could walk then and they had a handicap accessible patio area. Now it's been renovated and they sealed off the entrance to the patio so you can only access it from the front door which has 5 stairs.
I will stop complaining now lol, just felt like venting.

You rant away girl...so often in life we take too much for granted and forget the issues some have to deal with. Yes, the restaurant should provide access, that's not good at all.

Have a lovely evening Zoe!

Sending you hugs,
Loz x

We all rant, dear Zoe (peace to you, luv!)... sometimes justifiably, sometimes not so much. Your "little" rant seems to be the first. As for the lobster tails (and I may be too late, but if not), you should thaw them first, if they're frozen, so they're not "tough." That can take awhile though 'cause you should do it in the fridge (since they're "seafood").

Then just put them in some salted boiling water, with maybe a half teaspoon of white vinegar.

And that's it!

Bone ah-peteet, chile', and peace to you and dear hubby!

Shellama... on her own

Sounded like a good thing to have a little rant about to me, Zoe. You SHOULD have been able to go into your restaurant. You know, you could just e-mail them with your disappointment, and let them make it up to you ; ) Like with a complimentary dinner for two? I mean, due to the law, they will have to make the place accessible at some point, right?

You all sound like you're eating well tonight though, wherever you happen to be eating, lol!

Peace,
tammy

Mmmmmm... lobster tails... (SA looks at dear Zoe and smacks lips)... hot dogs (SA whips head 'round to look at dear V, mouth starting to "water")... lobster tails (whips head back 'round to dear Zoe, starting to drool a little)... hot dogs (back again to dear V, with pulse starting accelerate)... lobst...

Oh, c'MON, people! How's a girl s'posed to choose between hot dogs... and lobster tail, with rice, salad, and white wine???? Now, if dear Zoe had said she was having burgers... or dear V said HE was having caviar with, say, chilled shrimp and boiled egg salad... I could'a made a CHOICE! Wait... I mean, dear Zoe would'a needed to be having PB and Js (yuck!)... and dear V, maybe some veal cutlets (gag!)... THEN I would'a knowed where to invite myself for dinner!

But to have to choose between lobster tails and HOT DOGS??

Not fair. Not fair at ALL! So NO wish for peace! None!

Wait, okay, I can at least wish you both peace.

Peace (SA grumbles, while frowning at both dear Zoe and dear V for this very IMPOSSIBLE choice laid before her)!

Not gonna "sign" my name, though...

Morning everyone, I am up late this morning, company wears me out. My company stayed overnight because he drank a bottle of red wine and half a bottle of white and so we wouldn't let him drive home. He has his fifth wheel trailer parked at a seasonal trailerpark on a lake near us. He said I will take the back roads home, I said NO I will take your car keys before you do that. He got up at 6:30 this morning and went home, so that wa safer.
The Lobster dinner was a huge success for the men but I didn't care for it boiled, not appealing looking, I like the grilled ones with the shells opened before serving it and the meat popping up out of it. This one we had to shell them and the water got on the plate and made things soggy, yukk, I am very fussy when it comes to presentation lol. I ate one and gave my 2nd one to John, he loved that. My guest and friend Don was happy with his red wine heehee.
It was a gorgeous perfect temperature day yesterday but today its pouring rain and has been since 300 AM, it looks like this is going to be a all day gloomy rain.

I need some coffee this morning for sure to wake me up, I got cobwebs. I think I will make some cappuccino, I will make you all some too.

The coffee looks delish Zoe, thank you. Glad your supper went well, I've never tried lobster but I keep promising myself that I will.
Our curry was yummy and in good company, but my tummy isn't happy today lol.

Loz x

GOODNESS your weather SUCKS, dear Zoe (mornin' and peace to you, luv!). I would go BONKERS just trying to figure out how to dress each day! LOLOLOL!

Sorry, the lobster tail didn't "do it" for you. Ya'll did have some clarified butter to go with, yes? YES??? Otherwise, yeah, I'm with you: nothing more than boiled bug on a plate.

Stay warm and dry... and yeah, I'll have a cappucino with you, if you please (Shellama sits down next to dear Loz - peace, luv! - and snaps open napkin, then waits patiently while dear Zoe puts the kettle on...)

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to the father's on the board... and the dear ones in your households, chikkens!

A slave of Christ,

Shellama

Yes we had clarified butter to dip the lobster into lol, but the presentation and all those shells sitting beside my plate just turned me off it. I am making chicken souvlaki for supper tonight, a prettier presentation with chunks of marinated chicken and green peppers and red onion on wood skewers.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY to the men on this forum, I hope you are getting pampered today. My John is napping, that's his idea of being pampered and his kids didn't call him so that depressed him a bit.
