Ummmm... so what have we here? Looks like perpetual recess! Oh, I get it: I leave class for a bit and look what happens: I arrive to find no one in their seat but all out on the playground somewhere! Even the substitute instructors!! I mean, I get field instruction but something tells me ya'll ain't on no field trip, at least, not one where ya'll are perhaps immersing in Spanish language skills. No, methinks you all have taken recess down to the zocalo watering hole!

Well, okay, then: recess is about to be over and suspended for the remainder of the school year if someone doesn't come to class and take their seat, soon! And THEN you'll have to suffer through my long, boring "lectures" on grammar, syntax, conjugation, prepositions, compound sentences, proper phrasing, and all what not so that you PROPERLY learn proper Spanish.

Do you want that, huh, do you? I don't think so.

So, come to class, chikkens! In your places with "sunshine-y" faces and pronto!

Peace!

Maesta Shellama, clanging the heck out of the school bell... and searching the horizon for "Mary's" little lambs...

Hola, Shelby!

Es cierto, me he perdido de clase español. Pero practico con mi amiga y su madre (que no habla Ingles). Hablamos Espanol en sus casa! [It is rue, I have missed Spanish class. But I practice with my friend and her mother (who does not speak English). We speak Spanish at their house!]

Senora Shellama, please conjugate away, I am weak with my verb tenses!

Bueno, está bien, entonces! Por lo menos nuestros dos instructores están ahora presentes. (Well, okay, then! At least our two instructors are now present.) Pero todavía no hay corderos. (But still no lambs.) Ultima campana, queridos, y paz a todos! (Last bell, dear ones - and peace to you, all!) Querido GLT - paz a usted! (Dear GLT, peace to you!). Voy a dar a los corderos de un poco más de tiempo, y entonces será tiempo de conjugación del verbo - LOLOL! (I will give the dear lambs a bit more time and then it will be verb conjugating time - LOLOL!) Mientras tanto, hacer intercambiar palabras con el querido Jochy - paz a usted, también, querido hermano! (In the meantime, DO exchange words with dear Jochy - peace to you, as well, dear brother!). Sólo asegúrese de que son palabras "civiles" - LOLOL! (Just make sure they are "civil" words - LOLOLOL!).

OLLY OLLY BUEYES GRATIS!! (OLLY OLLY OXEN FREE!!)

Paz a todos!

Su sirviente, compañera de estudios, y un esclava de Cristo,

Shellama

Han pasado tres semanas desde que alguien escribi. Es muy tranquilo aqui! Buenos noches, amigos. [It's been three weeks since anybody wrote. It's very quiet here! Good night, friends.]

escribi: from escribir [to write]
han pasado: from pasar [to pass, go by]
desde: since, a passage of time
tranquilo: quiet (tranquil)

Sorry, dear GLT (peace to you!). I have been distracted, sorry to say, as well as thought perhaps the "direction" others wanted to go with this is less "formal" that I've posted. I'm probably too... ummmmm... "formal/rigid" in my teaching method so I tried to leave it to those who know the language better and can maybe teach it better/quicker.

Should we have a poll and see what folks want?

Lemme know!

Peace!

Shellama... on her own...

Sí, es un lengua MUY bonito, querida Zoe (buenos días y paz a usted!). Lo amo más que el francés (Francés es MAS "romántica" sonar para mio - LOLOL! Me hace pensar en citas ilegales por artistas de fumar cigarrillos y tal - LOLOL! Probablemente debido a las películas extranjeras vi como un niño - LOLOL!). [Yes, it is a VERY beautiful language, dear Zoe (good morning and peace to you!). I love it more than French (French is TOO "romantic" sounding for me - LOLOL! It makes me think of illicit trysts by cigarette smoking artists and such - LOLOLOL! Probably due to the foreign films I watched as a child - LOLOL!).]

Español SONIDO romántico, tambien, sí, pero "legal" - LOLOL! [Spanish SOUNDS romantic, too, yes, but "legal" - LOLOL!]

Espero que algún rendimiento a esta página. Fue muy divertido, a pesar de mis intentos de enseñanza excesivamente formales! [I do hope some return to this page. It was fun, in spite of my overly formal teaching attempts!]

Paz a usted!

Tu sierva, compañera de estudios, y una esclava de Cristo,

Shellama

Hola
I want to revive this thread, I am not up to much learning this month but I like the idea of a Spanish word or two a day to share.

Here is my Spanish word for the day - repugnancia, con repugnancia
disgust, with disgust. >:?
