LOLOLOLOL! Once they were in middle school I never gave my kids a bedtime, dear tec (peace, luv!). I just wasn't a fighter (of pre-teen/teenaged people - I believe one must pick their battles in life and I'd seen way too many parental casualties of THAT war - LOLOL!). Instead, I had two rules (which also apply to the grandkids):
1. Do NOT wake/keep ME up; and
2. Do NOT let ME have to get YOU up, ready, out the door, and in your seat at school the next day.
You think you're grown enough to stay up? Okay. ALSO be grown enough to also handle your business the next day. And school is YOUR business. Not mine. Work is mine and I get myself up. So you get your "grown" self up and out and we'll be just fine.
If not... then you MUST be in bed by "children's" time. Which was 9-9:30pm (depending on whether there was a meeting that night). Or... 8pm. Depended on how I was feeling...
I was always in awe of people who had the courage to fight/argue with teens. Teens can be brutal! Better to reason and negotiate, IMHO... if outright ordering didn't work - LOLOLOL!
You have my respect, girl! LOLOLOL!
Peace!

Great advice.......
Peace and Love to you Tammy and Shelby, Kim
P.s... Is so glad I don't have to worry about getting anybody up but myself NOW and that's hard sometimes LOL!!!!!
