I found this over on Reddit...
JW`s are now Tithed / Taxed by the WBT$.

Quote:
Can someone confirm or show proof of the recent announcement that they want each publisher to contribute $12 a month?

Quote:
They’re passing resolutions everywhere that will require each congregation to send in a certain amount each month. Looking through this sub, it seems to depend on where you live; congregations in more urban or well off areas are expected to give more......It’s tithing without the name.

Quote:
It's $40/mo. where I'm at.

Quote:
I’m told that a resolution to pay $1700 to the branch was passed in the congregation where my cards are.
That would be $17 a publisher of the average cong is about 90-100 publishers.

Quote:
There was an elders (and ms) meeting a while back where the co came in and said if the monthly donation amounts are not met, it’s up to the elders and ms to make up that difference.

Quote:
I believe the “suggested” amount in the US is about $8/month per publisher. But the elders can use a bigger figure if they think the congregation can support it.

There are more posts than that...
So this isn`t just a Local Thing, or a JW Congregation that decided to do something on their own.
This is the New Reality in WBT$ World...
JW`s are being Taxed by the WBT$, to be JW`s.

They set it up for that when they were taxed on the literature after the Jerry Swalwell thing, was it? and they said publishers had to pay for (sorry, "donate" for) the magazines rather than asking householders to do so.

Jehovah needs his mammon. Well, okay, his false prophets and false "christs" ("anointed") need it. Someone's gotta pay for all of that mahogany and liquor.

Peace to you, dear Sher'f (and dear Auntie and the Fam), and thanks for sharing this!

YSFS of Christ,

Shelb
