ID Discovery channel, based on Jim Kostelniuk's book, Wolves Among Sheep: the true story of murder in a Jehovah’s Witness community.

DEADLY DEVOTION SEASON 2:
WITNESS TO MURDER

This coming Wednesday night, August 20th at 9PM ET/ 8CT
INVESTIGATION DISCOVERY (check your local listings)*

ID Discovery introduces the program on their website by saying: “Kim Anderson, a divorced mother of two and devout Jehovah’s Witness, finally finds the man of her dreams. But on their wedding day, she has a sinking feeling that something terrible is wrong.”

I just watched this. In my opinion, it nailed exactly how wt men treat women. And how they have absolute dis-regard for any of their children. Now my opinion too is that this woman was willing to do anything...ANYTHING .....TO SECURE A MAN AND GOOD STANDING IN [ HER LIFE]. Hmmmm...sounds o so familiar.

That being said, this guy was an absolute predator. And my opinion again, is he had to shoot the kids; he shot the girl first, after the mother was shot, point blank, because he was molesting her. The boy, I'M sure, but no proof, was a witness to some of it.

What a piece of Krap!

Ladies, what was your marriage like with these wt men? According to this program, you even had to have sex whenever he wants...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!REALLY??

And wt men that are here and would be willing to feedback: what is it like for a jw woman, as her jw man?
If you saw this program tonight, was it as they portrayed it to be?

I meant to add that at the end, ID tells its audience "to learn more about what jehovah's witnesses are really about... go to their site for more info".

I particularly liked this program because it Fokused on the policy of shunning and the policies of jw marriage.

It's a sad truth that many women feel NO self value, dear Skally (peace to you!), except as to the man "in their life." Many have absolutely NO sense of self... or self worth... UNLESS they are somehow "tied" to a man. That is NOT limited to Jehovah's Witnesses, though, but is prevalent in MOST cultures AND religions. As a result, women who marry "wrong"... or perhaps even stand by and do nothing while their children are abused (including molested)... while THEY are being abused... are not as much an exception as we might like to think.

I don' think it's fair to make this particular issue about Jehovah's Witnesses... as it's more about WEAK WOMEN (most of which are, as Paul wrote, "loaded down with sins and led by various desires). Which, as you might know (because I've stated it before) is MY opinion as to the state of THIS country's young people (i.e., the thugs, gangbangers, deliquents, hoodlums, etc.). I won't go into that, but just say such women hail from EVERY walk of life, western AND eastern, educated AND uneducated, rich AND poor... "christian", Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist... atheist.

There are all kinds of reasons why a woman would deny her own value... or that of her children. Religion is only one of them.

Peace to you!

A slave of Christ,

Shellamar, who totally gets your need to point out this JW-related tragedy, but for HER part wants to "keep it fair"...

I can't see this show "yet" until its available for download. I so want to see it as I read the book and know the author. I read the book in December 2001, I still remember it vividly and still have the book.

I finally got to watch this show. It brought back the horror again that I felt when I read the book. The Elders were somewhat to blame for the murders because they refused to listen to her when she told them she was being abused. She suspected her daughter was being abused too. They listened to the sociopath instead. She left him finally against the elders advice. He stalked her and killed her when she refused to get back with him. I am so happy the show portrayed how the JW policies and elders were involved in this. Not a very good witness to the JW cult.

It was so tragic how the congregation shunned him when he went to the funeral for his children. They also didn't make a big fuss about the murders, just said that everyone should be happy because Kim and the children would be surely guaranteed a resurrection.

The only thing wrong with the show is their actors who are playing elders. The jargon jw speak is not right, they say things like end of days etc. Jim Kostelnuik the man who wrote the book and who is the ex husband and father of the murdered victims is in the show. I have communicated with him quite a bit. He is a very sweet man.

I had a very good JW friend in the early 80's about the same time period. She was very naïve about JW men like Kim was. She was desperate to get married to a good JW man. She also didn't get to know him well going along with the chaperoned policy. Her husband put on a good front with her pretending to be a devout witness. They only knew each other 6 months and she married him. She had a daughter from another marriage before she was a Witness. He had custody of his 2 children from his first marriage. He was divorced from a Witness lady. Anyway within 1 week of being married to him, his personality changed. He stopped going out in service. He was horrible, abusive, controlling, and treated her like a slave and a servant to take care of his children and cook and clean. I visited her once and saw it for myself. I was shocked. She told me she made a mistake but was going to live with it because Jehovah and the elders wouldn't approve of her then. I lost track of her when I left the JW religion. I wish I knew where to find her because she was such a lovely woman and a friend.
