Oh, what BS!!! (Forgive me and peace to you, ALL!). I couldn't get through it, of course, dear Skals (peace to you, luv!)... because when I heard/read Mr. Herd delineate woman's PURPOSE... well, I heard something about THAT from my dear Lord, the HOLY One of Israel and Holy Spirit, JAHESHUA, the Chosen One of JAH (MischaJah) (the emphases are mine):
1. To serve God - Well, that's EVERYONE's... and EVERYTHING's... PURPOSE. ALL creation: to serve and glorify God. To no rocket science level intellect displayed on that one.
2. To serve the needs of man - This one seemed to cause my dear Lord a little consternation. Because he said "Man and woman are to serve the needs of one another... as well as all OTHERS of mankind. The Woman Eve was not given to the man Adham to SERVE him... but to HELP him. Because he was ALONE... and it was not good for him TO continue ALONE. Thus, HE... needed HER... FIRST."
I thought, "Whoa... that's RIGHT, Lord! HE needed HER (and recalled that MOST men/husbands need women/wives... for a number of reasons, but not necessarily the other way around... in spite of what many men in the world think/want women to THINK... and women have PROVEN that!)! THANK you for telling me that!
3. To be married - This one caused him to laugh. He said, "It is only men who can be eunuchs, child? What of women who dedicate themselves as Nazirs to God? What of women whose parents dedicated them as servants to the temple (of God)? Cannot women serve the Father as well as men? Some are BORN eunuchs, both men AND women. Some are MADE eunuchs by man, both men AND women. And some MAKE THEMSELVES eunuchs... in their hearts... so as to serve God. Because their minds... and hearts... are not on the FLESH but on the spirit. While MOST women want a husband and children, yes, not ALL do. Nor MUST all. Tell the children of Israel that this man, the man 'Samuel Herd'... does not know of what he speaks. He is indeed a FALSE prophet, because what he speaks is NOT from ME."
So, I stopped there. I mean, why continue? Even though I KNEW the man was spouting "stuff", false stuff... based on his own PUNY understanding of what man and woman ARE... and WHY... I probably would have continued, just out of curiosity. Once my Lord spoke, though, I was like... "Well, then, that's THAT!"
Oh, I must remind all: one has to be careful when "following" Paul on the matter of men and women (which is, in LARGE part, the reason for the whole mysoginistic view of women among so-called "christians" today, particularly the WTBTS). As I've shared before, some of his position was based on his former life as a Pharisee (and so, uber-Judaism/Law), as well as the ROMAN laws of the time. Some have argued with me over the status of women during the Roman Empire... but they forget that BEFORE the Roman Empire there was the Roman Republic... and the Senate did NOT include women. For a REASON: they were considered toys, ornaments, and tools for forming political alliances. I digress.
Anyway, I believe my dear Lord thinks Mr. Herd is a total putz. I certainly do!
