Okay, so its like 11 pm, but I have been gone most of the day, and only just recently got in and started posting. Had a golf tournament with hubbies work today. Lots of fun (the rules were that we played off the best ball, in teams of four, so it everyone came in at the end around par for 18 holes)

So I am saying hello, and might almost say goodnight about the same time, lol.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Peace to you,
tammy (who almost crashed the truck on the drive home, but did not, but still felt amazingly stupid to look like the stereotypical 'female' driver, since all three of my passengers were men who had drank all day on the golf course. Ah well... feeling stupid is MUCH better than feeling stupid AND crashing the truck, lol)

Just wanted to say good afternoon everyone....

Funny story Tammy. But hope the golfing was fun!

We went out of town this weekend to a mini family sorta reunion. My first cousin found me on Facebook and has planned us all getting together for a while.

I went over two decades having nothing to do with family because of us being witnesses. And my family never got along anyways....

Well, to make it short. We had an absolutely wonderful day with them. Got to meet a lot of family. One of my cousins are Mormons. The rest are just " Jesus believers" without religion ( Yaay)

One of my cousins towards the end of the night when he heard me say I had gone my whole life without holidays etc...he asked, you were raised a JW? He said from 7-17 yrs old he was too. He was never baptized and left at 18.
The strange thing is for a couple of those years he was being forced to go to meetings it was in the same congregation that I was as a teenager until I got married. Small world, LOL!

But it led to an amazing conversation which he actually realized towards the end that there is still baggage he is holding on to and did not even realize it. He's now 50 yrs old.

Our family said, we MUST continue this visit and conversation and so are working on getting together again. I think in September. We had a lot to catch up on. Barely touched the surface.

Now I have a very small family and this was one of the ones that has been on my mind and heart over the last year as to whether to share our Lord or just to apologize for my actions as a JW. I have not seen them in 25-30 years, so this was an awesome day!

Hope your day and week are going great...

Love and peace to you all, Kim

How interesting, Kim! And I'm glad you had a great connection with your family, and you get to continue that.

Side note, and completely unrelated:

If anyone hears me complain about the cold this coming winter... slap me. Lovingly, and verbally, okay sure. But slap me... with a reminder of how I COOKED (not meals) in the summer : )

Peace!

Hello everyone! Sorry I have not been around much these past few days. I have had family down visiting until tomorrow, and we have been go go go. I don't know why I didn't tell everyone before now. I have some pms piling up unanswered - I am NOT ignoring you, I just don't want to shortchange you with my responses - and I see there has been some excitement around here that I am missing ; )

I am just SO busy and I don't get to see some of these members of my family very often, so I am trying to spend as much time with them as possible. I will see you all tomorrow!

Love to you all!

Peace to you,
your sister, and your servant, and a fellow slave of Christ,
tammy

Lovely to hear about all the family visits! Some more good news on the family front for me too. This week I've been visiting with a daughter and her kids that I haven't seen for 5 years. They are on holiday fairly nearby and it's been really super catching up, and seeing the children a great blessing. Also my younger son (still a very committed JW) sent me a loving email last week, first in 5 years, which warmed my heart. Contact with 4 out of the 5 is more than I dreamt of a few years ago. Early days but very hopeful, and 3 are now free of the WTBS, which is such a relief.

Peace to all for family times this summer,

Loz x

Wow, just wow, dear Loz - I rejoice in your's and dear Zoe's joy (peace to you, both)!!!

Helps me to see: never give up hope! Don't lose faith... and NEVER give up on loved ones! Might take some time for a reunion, yes, but maybe that's where asking for the fruit of God’s holy spirit that is LONG-suffering can help!

Glad for you and again peace to you!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shel
