I would love to go into it but it's never open when I go there. Can you give us a time when it's open with a bit of notice

Just a suggestion (and again, I can't go onto that chat right now with my parents)... but you might consider starting the sessions with a specific topic, even though that topic can veer in as many directions as people want it to, or be left behind altogether as people talk about whatever they want. But at least with something in particular to start with, people can decide if that is something they are interested in discussing, or listening in on.

But it is your forum. You do as you think is best of course, and run things however YOU want them to run. You have a vision for it -where people can come on and talk about whatever they WANT to talk about, uncensored (except for your one rule, lol) - and that is great; you don't need to change that. These things just take time to get going.

Peace to you!
your servant, and a slave of Christ,
tammy

it is why i searched out a room to get on mic, so all this text did not need to happen...i could have explained it all in chat...but,.....oh nevermind.....

so many posts to try to understand something so simple is very frustrating...have a nice evening....ya know, i though ya ouldnt come chat cuz u were busy, but you are not too busy to keep texting in threads....lolol ok...thats fine....but please.....

u didnt have to pull the "i'm too busy" card...it;s a bit insulting to say u cant make a chat session but you can spend time posting. just sayin'.

Hey sKally. My computer is in the living room of my house. So I can type without disturbing anyone. I can type and talk to my mom, both at the same time (although she is engrossed in her new book at the moment, lol). But I can't be on a chat line without forcing that conversation on everyone else. And I also can't chat with someone else and talk to my mom, both at the same time. Plus, I can leave the computer at any time, including mid-post. I can't do that on chat, at least not without leaving mid-sentence... which doesn't work when you're talking in real time so much ; ).

*shrugs*

That is all. Otherwise, I think I would come and at least say hi, even if the topic of that chat does not interest me.

Peace again,
tammy

Whatever works for you tammy, is fine. It has features where you can actually mute the audio and u can just textually chat.

just like old yahoo rooms that are dead now. it was the best and most fun way to meet/chat.

hope you and ur mom have a fab time spent together. i can only imagine having ANY family around. ENJOY!!

sKally

i've set up
a temporary blog
(hijacked from a friend's old blog)

http://imbackimreadytogo.blogspot.ca/

i'll post dates and times there
as i read it on tec's site here

the site name is based on
the the song "Ready to Go" by Republica
playing in the background
of the CGI cartoon i'm making
to advertise your video chat
at JWN
then
we'll see more people
figure out where you're at and when
without getting lost in multiple threads

i'll try to slap the cartoon together in hasty fashion
within the next couple of weeks
even if it means hijacking a previous cartoon

i can change domain name
and anything else
according to how you want it

i just need to figure out how

or i could hand you the keys to the blog
and you drive

:)

This is my problem with live chat too. It has to be a time when I am alone so I don't disturb others with stuff that doesn't interest them. I was hoping you could let us know a day ahead of time when it was open so I could schedule it. The supper hour is not good for me as John is here and I have to cook for him and we spend a few hours together until 7 PM. I am free between 7 PM and 9 PM without anyone around or 9 AM to Noon everyday. I am sure everyone has different scheduling though so we have to kind of make time when its time for you. I hope I can do that one day soon.

Not trying to tell you how to run your chat, dear Skals (peace to you, luv!), but a good rule of thumb might be to remember that you can only invite. If folks want to/can come... they will. If they don't/can't... well, chiding/ridiculing/trying to guilt them into it is kinda... well, puerile is the nicest word I can come up with. We all realize you want our support. Maybe because you've participated here. But participation and SUPPORT are not necessarily the same thing.

I have already made clear my intentions (which you ridiculed, as you have a tendency to do, but I realize that that comes from a place within you that needs to do that, so I take no offense, as I know (1) it's not personal as to ME, and (2) I've learned to take folks as they come... as I wish folks to do with me... because (3) in most cases, we weren't/aren't there when those needs in others were initially developed).

But as for others, why not give it some time? Why not post your meeting time(s), open your meetings... and then wait? Give it, say, half an hour. Read a book, browse the Internet... bake... while you wait and if no one shows up, shut her down. Until the next meeting time. Then open her up... and wait. Eventually,, folk'll catch on... as they get wind and as they "see" what your chat is about and what you (all) a're talking about. As the saying goes, "If you build it, they WILL come."

So you've built it; now, wait for "them" to come. And they will, but you might try a little patience until they do... which can be a virtue.

You might also wanna lay off the caffeine from time to time, too - LOLOL!

Peace... and MUCH success to you... AND your chats, girl!

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

Shellamar... sans rain slicker... 'cause I don't pay much attention to the rain... or whatever else might "fall" (say, outta someone's heart... for trying to "help", here)...

What is "TOO" tired, luv (peace!)? Too tired to try and help my brother... or sister... or just a sundry fellowman... out? But then, even if I were, could I not ask for a little bit of strength so as to do so? I am tired, yes. I need to sleep, yes. But I will do plenty of that when my body dies, so I'm not sweatin' the loss. I am sure I will more than make up for it, then! LOLOL!

For now, though, while my body IS tired... my mind is still processing yesterday's iced tea. Which I drank so as to finish my project which was due this morning. And finish it I did... and with an hour to spare! Unfortunately, the caffeine hasn't fully burned off.

Which was the source of my comment (about caffeine) to you.

As for your question ABOUT it... I have absolutely NO idea. It's like alcohol: some folks can handle five shots pretty well. Some probably shouldn't have any (y'know girls who take their tops off and dance on tables... or go home with strange men... or women... after, say, one shot)...

But nice try, luv. Still didn't warrant my slicker. Now, my BOOTS... that could be another story entirely.

Just sayin', if you let folks CHOOSE, luv, they're more apt to join you. If you do the GUILT thing (or try to)... well, you prolly should being pointing too many "hypocrite" fingers at the WTBTS. 'Cause that's one of their tactics.

Nohmsayin'? Jus' sayin'...

Peace!

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

Shellamar
