Lol... you're right, Sept 21 is the first day of Autumn. So that IS the technical end of summer. School, however, mentally ends the summer for people who are affected by that.

Winter doesn't officially start until Dec. 21st either, but we tend to mark winter by the snow, and that comes LONG before the official start of winter ; ) And it lasts well past the official end of winter.

You know what actually works for us? Summer's start. That is the only one we get on schedule here.

Peace to you!

tammy

Yes Shelby....

You are right! The calendar is not officially there yet but....
The feel is in the air. And the start of school always set autumn off for me.
Winter was the first good snow and spring was when the bulbs popped through the snow. But I realize the calendar may say a whole different thing, LOL!!!!!

Enjoy your day, whatever the season feels like to you LOl /:)

And ZOE, glad to were able to get your hair done, always feels good!

Love y'all

I didn't even SEE this post. I don't know what TICK means, but I am glad that everything went good today for you Loz. (sorry about the wifi though) That's nice to be in a B&B instead of having an apartment or hotel. You can have privacy, or people, whichever you like. Do you get dinner made for you then? Because that would be BONUS : )

Peace,

Good morning all!

Day two of school for the kids. Everything went fine yesterday, though that high school is hard to negotiate. My son had trouble finding one of his classes, but he made it and that will get better after this first week.

When I went to high school, it was two levels, but one big square, lol... with some portables outside. But the room numbers went in order, in a square around the school. His school has a college type layout. They have an atrium, a courtyard, a basement for the cafeteria, one and a partial levels, except for the tower, which has five levels (and an elevator)! Plus a wing for all the students going the trades route (welding, carpentry, automotive)

Peace,
tammy

Good morning everyone....

I don't know either Tammy.
But staying in a B&B sounds lovely. Sounds like a mini vaca between work, LOL!!

Enjoy your week everyone.

Wow! I was thinking just how fast this year has gone already. Can't believe it is September already. The Halloween stores are in. WOW! And Costco has Christmas stuff already!

It's amazing how spoiled we are here and some are just trying to search for a daily clean water supply.
Not meaning to make anyone feel terrible, just how sometimes realizing what we don't have is nothing compared to how blessed we are here.

Have a great day y'all!!!!

Tammy

Glad day two went well.

I remember my high school was like a college campus as well. Overwhelming at first for me, I remember. I remember 7 minutes was not enough time to make it to another class sometimes. It was huge! Sucks if you had to go the bathroom!

It will get better. He has a great support system :D

Enjoy your quiet house Tams

I can't remember if we were talking about spiders here or on the good night thread... but... I just broke my necklace. The chain is long enough that I can just pull it off over my head without working the clasp; well I had lifted it up and got distracted with something so left the front part on my head... then forgot I had done it (yes, I assume I would have looked silly if anyone had seen me)... but then touched my head a moment ago, felt 'something' that was not my hair, and thought...

"SPIDER IN MY HAIR!!!!'

... then yanked it off (which of course meant snapping the chain).

*rolls eyes at self*

Anyway, reminded me of our spider talk, so I shared, lol.

Peace,
tammy

Hi all, TICK means crossed off the list yes? It's ok at the B&B but like the Bronx at its worst (I imagine) outside at night. Drunken fights etc etc. I will have to find a flat/house share soon cos this is too expensive.
Very late here and I'm absolutely bushed but wanted to update.

Developments today have been shocking at the school. Can't really explain using my mobile but tonight I realise that I've been 'sent' here. What a privilege. I'm sure everything will become clearer soon. Sorry to be vague, but I thought you'd all like to hear this?

Love to all
Loz x

Wow Loz, you are really experiencing some life changes with your new job. I was thinking a B&B would be more expensive and less private. I hope you find a flat soon in a less drunken at night area ;-)
Thanks for taking the time to update us, I know I am very interested in your new life adventure and am curious about the shocking news at the school.

You crack me up! I can totally see that visual, sorry. But had me rolling!

LOZ, thanks for that definition, LOL. Hope everything is for the best and you can maintain your balance and joy in this sis! Hope to hear more.

B&Bs are cheaper than hotels here.

There was an hour in today's timetable that ranks up there as one of the worst hours of my life lol. I debated running away but decided to keep going and fight. I've only had about 6 hours sleep in the past 48, and yet my energy keeps coming. I know where it's coming from, and it isn't mine. Following the horrific 'hour' there was a moment or two that were wonderfully memorable. I can only keep going.

The school is plagued by an older staff element that almost caused its closure, but with an innovative caring new team who want to mend it for the sake of the kids. There are 2 camps, lots of gossipy cliques. I've had to take a stance. I'm staying loyal to a brilliant Principal with an honest caring vision, who saw my worth and hired me.

People there are offering me house shares and home cooked meals etc, but would require that I compromise that stance. It isn't a pleasant experience, it's beyond traumatic, as they've upped the ante, but I was 'shown' last night that I've been brought here, so here I'll stay, until or unless I receive a different directive. I don't yet know exactly why. My honest direct stance will inevitably make me some enemies, but hey, 'with God on our side, who can prevail against us?'

Tomorrow I can go home for the weekend. Bliss.

Take care everyone,

Loz x

Loz, thank you for telling us all that, and for showing us YOUR faith. That our Lord is keeping you strong for something He has sent you to do... I am so glad for you, and for the faith and strength that builds in all of His Body. He does not abandon us.

And you are right... if God is FOR us, who can prevail against us.

Peace and love to you, as Christ gives it,

tammy

Stay strong sis!

It always feels wonderful when you can be used in a situation that will help the most.
Enjoy your weekend and rest up! I hope you can maintain your joy even though at this time it is a stressful situation you are in. Hopefully it will all fall into place the way you have been directed to be used.

Love ya
Justmom
