It hasn't been the same without you Tammy.

It HAS seemed "different," hasn't it? I'll also be glad when our dear Sher'f is up and around... and able to be with us, too! In that light, I'm also missing a few others (holla!). Not sure if this is the right place... but I feel I must say this:

I realize that the... ummmmmmm... "discussions" we sometimes have are hard to bear for some... but I hope folks don't let sensitivities dissuade them. Christ said a LOT of things to folks that assaulted their sensitivities, but they were always TRUE... and those who could ACCEPT truth continued with him. We may find some things difficult to hear, as well, yes, if we are not yet able to handle truth. If we LOVE truth, though... we can push through. Remember, the WTBTS (and many, many others) disguise their FALSEHOODS... in "love" and "kindness" and "niceness," etc. Their TRUE works, however, are manifest!

In that light:

"Better is open rebuke than hidden love." Proverbs 27:5

The meaning of "hidden" here isn't love that just isn't put to the front, but perhaps held back although real. Like someone who does love another but is perhaps to shy... or afraid... to say so. To understand what the word "hidden" here means, one might consider Job 3:23:

"Why is light given to a man whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in?"

We can ACT "nice" and "kind" and TELL folks all day long that we are such. But that's not necessarily the TRUTH. In fact, usually it isn't. USUALLY... we act so... because we want people to THINK we are... and/or because we want something FROM them: to accept us, listen to us, do something for us, give us something. How many of us have known people who appear "nice"... in front of strangers or at work... or on internet forums, etc.... yet, in REALITY... are not nice... or kind... at ALL!

The Adversary NEVER used "unkind" words - his words were ALWAYS "nice" and "kind." Yet, we would NEVER consider him someone to listen to. On the other hand, the men Moses, Abraham, Jacob, David, Paul, Peter, even Christ himself... often spoke forthrightly, such that their words would, by today's standard, be considered "unkind" and not "nice."

Dear ones... our own sensitivities may very well be the thing that hinders our FAITH: we can't HEAR Christ because his words aren't always "nice" and "kind"... as we consider "niceness" and "kindness" today. It's going to be even worse, though... when he returns. Because what we will all SEE... will assault our sensitivities in a way NONE have been told to expect:

"... he will startle (NOT "sprinkle"!) many nations. Kings will stand speechless in his presence. For they will see what they had not been told; they will understand what they had not heard about." Isaiah 52:15

We are supposed to "gird UP our loins"... not "shrink back." If we need words that "tickle" our ears... we will get more than we ever thought... but not from Christ. From those who "come in place" of him. HE... comes in truth. Always.

I hope this helps, truly!

Again, peace to you, ALL!

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

Shellamar-Shellama-Mama-Llama

Yes.

It IS kind - truly kind, and loving - to have the truth spoken to us, most especially by THE Truth: Christ, Himself. Even if it is hard to hear, and/or something 'unclean' about ourselves. Because then we can turn, repent, and be healed. We can allow Him to teach (refine) us. So while it may not feel 'nice' or 'kind' at the time, this truth - given from love - that may be hard to hear... is better than a lie that tickles ears.

Peace!!

tammy (who also misses the Sheriff and hopes he is doing better; and also wants to hug you all for such a loving welcome back)

Morning everyone....

Just wanted to say that. Was up bright and early. Fire alarm went off in another building and woke us up. Didn't get turned off for about 30 minutes. Dang those things are loud!
Found out it was a false alarm. Got pulled somehow but still sucks that we were wide awake.

Gonna head out early this a.m. For a while.
Check in later.

Love y'all
Justmom.

Interesting, thank you, Zoe.

It always surprises me how many things are different between our two countries. As far as I know, we don't use that expression over here. I've never ever heard it. Have you, Loz?...You may have met it in international web forums (I haven't), but locally? Or in the British media?

Morning everyone and happy Friday!!
I am off to the doctor at noon, since I moved its an 1 1/2 hour drive to him ugh! Here where I live there is no spare doctors and the wait is sometimes 2 years to get one. So I can't suspend this doctor but you can't get a new doctor until you suspend the old one so its really a dilemma. If I don't have a doctor then everytime I need one I have to go to a walk in clinic and those are a zoo and you get a different "indifferent" doctor everytime.

No disasters last night or yesterday Yay!! The computer shop called and my computer is totally wiped of everything so its start from scratch again. Never again am I hard wiring it to the router grrrrr.

Have a great day everyone, see you later.

Oh, so sorry you have such a long commute to see your doc, dear Zoe (mornin' and peace to you!). That must be a bit of an ordeal for you. Maybe you can make it a bit of a day trip, the travel to and from, if not perhaps a nice lunch? I sometimes pack mine and take with, along with whatever book I'm reading at the time. Delays my hasty run back to the computer and gives my mind a bit of a "rest" - LOLOLOL!

Anyway, I hope it goes as smoothly as possible for you, luv!

Peace and a LOVELY day to you... and to you ALL!

Your servant and a slave of Christ,

Shellamar

Good morning everyone!

Hope your drive goes well, Zoe. Sometimes people here will get specialists in Calgary (2 1/2 hours away from Edmonton) because the wait list is shorter. I know how you feel about the clinics though.

We are off to animethon this weekend; leaving in about an hour. It is like comic con... but with anime. Comics; manga; anime - books and video; panels about your favorite shows; lessons on cosplay (which I am not entirely sure what that is, lol); video gaming and card gaming; and there is a building devoted to playing some of the anime shows throughout the three days.

So that is where I will be for most of this weekend : )

Peace!!

tammy

I am back 5 hours later lol, what a lot of driving. We stopped and picked up my prescriptions and that was about 45 minutes out of our way. I aked the doctor for a Cat scan for my back as I haven't had one done in about 6 years. He wanted me to go to the hospital today and get it done. We would have been another 2 hours so we passed on that, I will go on tuesday instead. I am going to get a bunch of tests done to see what is going on with me and a MRI to so I will be going on these doctor excursions a lot in the next little while grrrrr.

Have a great day everyone and enjoy your evening!

Glad you got back safely Zoe. See here, although it's free on the NHS, people often have to wait months for things like CAT scans and MRIs. Swings and roundabouts?

Have a good weekend everyone! We've been out car browsing for a new car for me to travel to the new job. The head teacher phoned me today, it was very positive and helpful, and the guy has a wonderful passion for education, so I'm feeling very encouraged now.

I'm home 8 and a half hours later, lol. Tired - ish. The boys still want to go back tomorrow, so that must mean they enjoyed themselves ; )

Hope your tests go well, Zoe... maybe even show something that can give you some relief.

Loz, I guess that means you are taking that job?! I missed that somewhere. A new car though, for a new job... that is awesome : )

Peace!

Lol Tammy, i guess it does, I don't think I've actually SAID it, not even to myself! I just seem to be being swept along, having left it in the hands of Jah and Christ.
