Good morning, dear Ataloa (peae to you, dear one!)... and yes, indeed! I had thought there was a post about that here somewhere, but I can't locate it just now, but here's the thing:
Unfortunately, the inability to discuss God, Christ, faith, spirit, and related matters was becoming very great elsewhere (NOT due to the Admin, which was MOST accommodating of us!) due to a few fellow posters that just couldn't handle anyone still having faith after theirs became shipwrecked. Their manner of opposition was become more and more ugly and vicious so what to do? No one wanted to be run off by people who had no real authority but just wanted a place where anyone who wished to could discuss/declare their faith openly and not ALWAYS have to undergo unnecessary and unwarranted attack.
And then I heard to build a "city of refuge" which I discussed with several other dear ones here... where those who wanted to have open discussion about God/Christ/faith, etc. could "go" to do so, while not prohibiting others from questioning (which is what often occurs in the opposite - if it's not vicious and ad hominen attacks as TO faith, there is often similar opposition to those who question it on sites that are almost purely "religious" sites. We didn't want either... and nor does our Lord).
And so, voila! This place was created as that "city" for those who want to discuss these kinds of matters without being attacked, yet welcoming questions, debate, information, etc., from anyone, including those without faith and/or don't believe in God and/or Christ at all, so long as comments remain civil and decent (which is all we really ask). Because if one's faith IS accurate, then there really is no need to fear, oppose, or run from questionings, debates, etc., as one should be ABLE to provide a defense for their faith.
But there are those with strong faith, or just starting out with faith, or even no faith... who don't want to be subjected to snarky ridicule and malicious opposition ALL the time and so... here we are!
This is not and was not meant as a place a replacement for others sites for those who don't wish it to be, however. We are not an "exclusive" club nor do we demand exclusive loyalty; ALL are welcome here... and all HERE are encouraged to participate on other sites as they deem fit (who knows whose faith they might assist by doing so?). It is merely a "refuge" from the usual "We don't agree and so we MUST fight!" environment for those who wish that, as well as place to perhaps engage with like-minded, like-hearted, and certainly like-spirited folks.
And so... here we is!!
So, again, peace to you and we're SO glad you have joined us! LOLOLOL!
