I didn't even know this forum existed or I would've joined a long time ago! I recognize many names from another forum... where it's become discouraging to read and/or discuss subjects of faith... I'm sure you know what I mean. (;

Several topics of interest for me here - and similar thinking - looking forward to the continuing good discussions!

I couldn't see how to make a new topic thread, so about me:

Was not born into the wtbts religion, but chose it as an adult. Was a 'good witness' until I clicked on a link to an online news article about the wt's involvement with UN NGO's... which link led me to the Silent Lambs site... which led to a flurry of clicked links and about 2 months of broken-hearted crying... I can say LOL now, but at the time it was a 'shipwreck' of my faith in any organized religion. "True religion" is something entirely different, imho. All in all, no matter how painful at the time, it worked out to a great spiritual benefit - I belong to Christ!

My husband of 20+ yrs is a long-time, never-been-a-jw, Christian and we're not connected to any religious denomination, though they all seem to want us($$$), hehe. My daughter(who studied with but never became a jw, THANK GOD!) has blessed us with 3 darlin' grandchildren.

I join in a small online Bible study with others bi-weekly and they've been such a source of encouragement - love those 'guys'! I hope to find - and fit in with - the same type of wonderful Christ-minded brethren here.

Oh, Watkins, how I do remember the "broken-hearted crying" of which you speak. And "shipwreck" too. But, having come out on the other side of both of those things--ALL is much better.
