TARA SAID

Hi, Tec. It's Tara from Jackie's site. Baptised witness for 10 yrs, Disassociated myself in 1996. Found an online ex Jehovahs Witness Women's support group (Women-Awake@yahoo.com) and from them learned about JWD and Crisis of Conscience by Ray Franz. Realizing I'd been in a cult was so freeing. Reading Crisis of Conscience took away all the fear and guilt over leaving that I'd been carrying around for 10 years.
Joining the JWs was the hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. Had to defy my husband and parents. But I did it because I loved God and Jesus and totally believed I was doing the right thing. Now I feel spiritually raped by the JWs and am lost spiritually.

((Tara))

I understand what you're saying and how you feel. You tried to do what was right, and the people who promised they were helping you, guiding you... turned out to be the ones to hurt you. And because they are 'blind guides' they don't even know what they're doing in the first place.

Only One will not let us down. I know that it can be hard to trust and turn to Him though after being hurt spiritually. But He can and does heal those hurts, no matter how much time you need or take to turn to Him.

I'm glad you're here.

Peace,
tammy

AGUEST SAID

Greetings, dear Tara... WELCOME... and peace to you! I realize you addressed dear tec (peace, dear one!), but I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you here! Your comment that you are "lost spirituality" breaks my heart! It is SO... grievous... to me that in leaving that harlot so many experience spiritual "shipwreck". But it doesn't HAVE to be that way!

The main reason that this occurs for those who didn't want to leave God, as well, is because none of us were ever told (by the WTBTS or anyone else... except maybe Peter) that there is no WHERE to go away to... but only a WHOM! We are always told that we MUST worship God in conjunction with [some] religion/religious organization/institution. Since the WTBTS went so far as to blasphemously call themselves "the truth"... well, that's pretty much it, isn't it? If THEY are the truth... what IS?

I will tell you, dear one: the Truth is not a what. It is a WHOM:

"I... am... the Truth." John 14:6

That statement if further corroborated by the following verses (which most, including the WTBTS utterly misses!):

"... you will know the truth and the truth will set you free."
John 8:32

"Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you will truly BE free."
John 8:36

And...

"Sanctify them by means of your word; your word is truth." John 17:17

"I am... the truth." John 14:6

"In the beginning was the Word... and the Word became flesh." John 1:1, 14

"... and [i]the name HE is called is 'The Word of God'." Revelation 19:13

"Hence [Jesus] also, that HE might sanctify the people with his own blood..." Hebrew 13:12

Can you see what I'm sharing with you, here? Peter summed it up when he said, after my Lord asked him if he (Peter) wanted to leave off following him (Christ), too:

"Lord, whom shall we go away to? You have sayings of everlasting life; and we have believed and come to know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:68

That you MUST associate with and/or follow the WTBTS... is just ONE lie... of the very many those adulterous and harlotous FALSE "christs" (anointed) have told you and misled you to believe (Matthew 24:24). There are many, many others, primarily their very false teach of whom is meant by "anyone" in Christ's words recorded at John 6:48-58. I exhort you to pay close attention to verses 50-54, as I would wager you've never "seen" them before! You certainly haven't had anyone accurately explain them to you - to the contrary, you have been told that you are NOT among "anyone". That, dear one... is a LIE.

Please, stay and visit with us awhile. While not everyone here professes to be of the Body of Christ, many of us do. And it doesn't matter - we are to love EVERYONE, and judge NO ONE... and perhaps even "win" some who might not otherwise be so won... by our love and conduct. NOT by our false rhetoric and propaganda designed to "devour... houses."

Everyone here is open to discussing whatever you need to, whether it be matters of faith, matters of doubt, loss of faith, and more. There are believers here, agnostics, and atheists. This doesn't concern us, though, in line with Matthew 5:43-48.

Our only concern, then, is that to the greatest extent possible all who visit and post endeavor to do so with civility and decency. Whether another is a believer or not is not up to us... but up the Christ, who calls... and chooses.

Again, welcome, grab a comfy chair (there's tea, crumpets, cake, sandwiches, and if you need something and don't see it, we'll try to get it for you - LOL!)... and sit a spell. I promise you, you will learn something.

Peace to you!

GRAMMAVELTA SAID

Dearest Tara,

All of us who love God and want to serve Him have gone through many different experiences. After we left the Witnesses, God put us into other churches and we learned from them. We learned to trust God and listen to Him instead of depending on others. Our life today would not be the same if we had not had those experiences.

We were Witnesses for over 45 years. I do not regret any of the time that I spent there. God uses 'everything for our good'. Romans 8:28. The things you learned from the WT, some good, some bad, are learning experiences. You would never know how other XJWs feel if you had not been there. God uses our testimony to help others as well as give us a contrast to the freedom that He wants us to have. We would not appreciate how wonderful seeing is if we had not been blind. Everything that has happened to us makes us the person we are today.

Do not resent what you learned in the organization, but use it to help others.

Our testimony is useful because it shows us how God works. I believe that God put us in that organization for a reason and the testimony we have today shows how God uses everything to make us into the people we are to help others. Revelation 12:10-11 says that 'The blood of the Lamb and our testimony overcomes the accuser of our brothers'. No one but us who have been through the experiences can say without a shadow of a doubt what God has done in our lives.

Everything that happens in our lives is to bring us into a closer relationship with God. That is what life is designed to do.

Love and hugs,
Gramma Velta
