Can you guys and girls translate your sentences into English when you say something.

We could, Zoe, but we might get in trouble.

Outlaw asked the question about his dog.
I said "no se" - I don't know.
"no hay papel higienico" - there's no toilet paper?

I used the translator to see what Outlaw said; then I pushed the little audio button and made the lady say it out loud in english.

"fue divertido" = it was entertaining

No hablo espanol.

I hope someone is going to correct our mistakes.

Just shows that knowing other Latin-derived languages is no help at all when it comes to Spanish!

I was thinking that "entiende" would be something to do with hearing or listening, but it isn't

AGUEST SAID

Peace to you, dear ladies! Please note:

Comprende = comprehend
Entiende = understand

So both mean pretty much the same thing and can be used interchangeably, depending on how "formal" you want to be.

I've started the next lesson but went on a playdate with dear hubby and didn't get to finish it. I will try to post it tonight or something over the weekend. If I can't get to it (I like to give hubs his time)... then it will have to be Monday (or Tuesday, as I have drs. appt. Monday).

Paz a todos!

Su sirviente, compañero de estudios, y un esclava de Cristo,

SA

Now, you see, I decided for myself that it meant "Your servant, a companion in learning, and a slave of Christ" because I took it to be a variation on Shelby's usual signature!

So we're all trying hard to learn here, and Zoe is probably right!
