Stop for a moment and look to your feet Homeless women with dogs look up I walk past two such souls Pleading for care and then giving up Resolute defeat echoes in their silence. She doesn't see me continuing on To the corner flowerstand. I pick up a tulip for $1.75 Bundle it up with $2.00 I walk on back and acknowledge her eyes Hand her the blossom and share my time For $3.75 I've bought her respect A small price really to be remembered. YPPUPLLEH SAID Friend of mine(Kara) wrote down her thoughts on the Beslan tragedy in 2004 where children lost their lives at school to rebel bombing. i turned it into a poem. "Beslan 2004" Innocence killed by atrocities of hate. So many lives are broken. Time serves to heal the pain and the regret But also makes us forget. And then... we suffer the mistakes we made again.
