I'm turning in early for a Saturday night.

Just not the party girl I used to be

Okay, gotta turn in, now. Long day. Went on an adventure, we did: "Puppies' Day Out [in the Big City]", which consisted of me and all three pups walking around downtown SF while hubby attended an art class. They LOVED all the smells and sights... but the BART... and then the city sounds... then BART again... almost drove two of 'em crazy. They in turn, almost drove ME crazy! LOLOL! One (Miss Queen Bee Li-Li) refused to walk for most of the trip (because the terrain was unfamiliar - she won't go where she don't know - LOLOL!), so I had to haul all 10 lbs. of her butt around in her doggie bag!

I was SO ready to kiss the ground when we got back to this side of the Bay! LOLOLOL!

BUT... ah, well... just means I need to take them more often, so's they get used to it. For now, though, I'm bushed, so...

BART = Bay Area Rapid Transit. The train fare beats bridge tolls, and you don't go crazy trying to find a parking place in The City. The City = San Francisco.

it's night

calm ocean waters
then the moon comes out from behind one cloud
and shines upon
a wrinkled hand
coming out of the water

another hand splashes out and reaches for
the rope ladder
dangling over the side of the wooden ship

a soggy figure slowly drags itself up the ropes
and stumbles onto the dry deck
breathless

he's wearing a rubber duck lifesaver
and wrenching a squid off his face
(shpoink!)

"i thought ---
i thought you was all dead . . .
i swam back to the rendezvous
but all's i saw was wreckage
floating in the water . . .
been swimmin' 'round
past couple months
lookin' for any signs of life,
never dawned on me to scroll down my pile of email,
