Oh My, I think sometimes talking in person is so much better, writing things online doesn't always come across in the right light.
I seem to be coming across as complaining, I am so grateful for this site and all I have learned from it. I think I have learned enough at this point to believe in Christ or how to know about him but it would be nice to talk with other folks who are "likeminded" on how to praise our Lord more. I am reminded just from your last post how so many just want to bemoan about how bad their experiences with being a JW was and miss the whole point about moving on and finding a solution and better source for truth. I am NEVER lonely, I always have someone to talk to or be with so that is not my issue.
Anyway I am listening and learning everyday, just had a glitch for a few months what with focusing on my health and getting better LOL.
Love and peace from Zoe

Smile - You did NOT come across as complaining, dear, dear Zoe (peace to you, dear sister!). I didn't take your words as that AT ALL. I simply meant to point a great concern of mine, using your other posts as a springboard.

Yes, we are to chew on manna given us at a time, there are sometimes reasons why discussion slows down greatly here. We have the example of the Israelites - WHY did they HAVE to wander 40 years?? And why did the older ones not make it across the Jordan and into the Promised Land? Various things, including fear, lack of faith, murmuring, putting JAH to the test, issues with Moses, not obeying, wanting to be like the nations... and more. Bottom line, they never TRULY "got it."

And even the younger ones who did cross... what was THEIR eventuality? Overcome by their enemies over and over, incessant warring, calling for a king, being given one but being subject to a human king's will... more war... war between kings... oppression... conquered again... exiled... etc., etc., etc. Because THEY didn't "get it", either.

That's it, that's all. But no worries - We all know these things, yes? And so no one needs to hear from me about it - LOLOL! I just couldn't help myself, again having the springboard. But I will refrain going forward, my dear sister, I promise.

And I sincerely apologize for anything I shared that led to any misunderstanding here.

The greatest of love and peace to you and your household!

Your servant, sister, and a slave of Christ,

Shel

Thank you Zoe my sister for your well wishes & peace to you. I am so glad to hear you're recovery is going well at home.

Yes, hubby & I are home safe although very saddened that our holiday ended and greatly missing our brothers and sisters who shared their time with us. Our holiday was wonderful. Truly. Hubby still insists it was his best, ever (and he's been all over the world!) The love shown to us was way beyond any expectations. Praise Jah!

The hospital 'adventure' was scary, but surrounded by the diligent care & comfort of such lovely members of Christ's body, and moreso by the peace Jaheshua bestowed upon us, even that part turned into a positive. It turns out that I have a lung disease which was exacerbated by travelling into the mountains, with the altitude. Everything is in hand though and back here I'm awaiting appointments now with specialists for ongoing treatment. So it's all good.

I too hope we can encourage one another more here on the board.

Peace to everyone,
Your servant, sister and fellow slave of Christ

Loz x

Just checking in to say hi to everyone! Hope you're all doing well... as well as can be, at least. Particularly thinking about you, Kim, with the fires in your neck of the woods. Hope you and yours are okay.

Best,

Doing fine dear LQ and peace to you,

We are in Bay Area now but yes Redding was so close to our old home. My husbands brother and family were evacuated but they seem to be okay. My brother lives there too. I texted him and haven't heard but that is pretty typical of him as a JW. But thank you for asking.

Hoping you are well my brother. Peace and love to you ALL,

your sister servant and slave of Christ,
kim

Peace to you Leaving,

Good to hear from you! All is well on my end. My puppy lost his eye last Wednesday. We had been fighting to heal an ulcer on the cornea (from a scratch) for a couple weeks, but the eye was just not responding to any medication or any therapy. His eye ruptured last Wednesday morning, and he had it removed that afternoon. So he is a pirate dog now. He also is out of pain, and I am just SO glad for that. He will be out of the dreaded 'cone of shame' next week (which he has been wearing for weeks already). But he is happy and playful (and so bored because I have to keep him calm for another week, lol).

I could have been sad for him (and I was for a few minutes). But I had just really 'gotten it' the day before (and Shelby had wrote about this in another thread): that things do not have to be "OKAY" in this world. Suffering in this world is temporary and Christ has conquered this world. And I just got it; and so I just felt peace and love and gratitude. Everything WILL BE okay (more than okay) in His Kingdom, even though we can and do have peace in Him now, regardless of current trials and tribulations, as long as we have faith in Him. I realize that my dog losing his eye is not some kind of persecution by man for my faith or anything like that (even though my eye was hurting also, and I wondered if it was empathy or if I had somehow spread bacteria from him to me). But it got me thinking about other hardships that we will endure in this life (many of them are just regular 'life' in this world, that everyone else goes through as well). Some of them will be for our faith.

But it does not matter! Because we have the words and promises of our Lord; and any suffering we may endure now (be it normal suffering of this world - some of which we could avoid by listening to Him - or suffering for our faith) is temporary. And not only temporary, but provides us an opportunity to prove the Adversary wrong and show our love and faith for Jaheshua and His Father.

Just thought I would share that as well as say 'hi' back!

Peace and love to you and to your household,
your servant and sister and fellow slave of Christ,
tammy

Awww dear Tams, so so sorry to hear that your puppy has been suffering but so glad that now he is out of pain.

He will adjust quickly and be okay LOL.

They don't whine like us humans. My Labrador years ago went completely blind pretty quickly and I'm sure she thought something doesn't feel quite right. But you would have NEVER known it. Her spunk, affection and tail wagging never missed a beat. And she memorized the house and yard so well that folks never knew she was blind unless you stood still and she would walk into you if you were standing still silent.

Anyways, glad your doing well.

Love and peace to you all,
kim

So glad to hear you're okay, Kim. Didn't know you moved down to the Bay Area.

Sorry to hear about your pup, Tammy. Dogs are fascinating. Lose a limb and they don't miss a beat. Sounds like yours is the same with without an eye. Me, I'd be having a pity party of one. LOL!

Good Morning everyone. I hope you are well today.

So nice to hear from you LQ, hope you are doing well and enjoying the summer.

Tammy that is so sad that your puppy had to lose an eye. I feel so sad when animals get injured or sick and have to suffer and probably do not understand why they have to be restricted afterwards for awhile. Such good news that puppy is all better and enjoying life again.

We are having wild fires here in the north of our Province here in Ontario Canada, its like they have in California, there are dozens of them here and people are having to evacuate. My son and his wife just moved up north 3 weeks ago and its getting perilously close to their brand new house in the woods. We need rain and lots of it. Very scary and most of it gets started because of humans being careless with fire or cigarettes.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Just touching base and sending peace to all here.

So sorry to hear about your puppy Tammy. Worrying too are all these fires we are seeing on the news bulletins.

No real news from here, we are ok, keeping going, as you do. On the verge of getting a new puppy to be company for Bugsy, but nothing definite yet. Thought we'd found one but no, it didn't work out.

Our summer here is wonderful this year. It is actually including lots of sun lol.

Love to all

Loz x

Greetings, and peace to you, all! I know no one means to no listen to Christ, but listening also means we are to BELIEVE what he said and says, yes? That IS what "faith" IS... yes? And, yet...

“A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. Whoever has ears, let them HEAR.”

“Listen then to what the parable of the sower means: When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in their heart. This is the seed sown along the path. The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the Word and at once receives it with joy. But since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the Word, they quickly fall away. The seed falling among the thorns refers to someone who hears the Word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke the Word, making it unfruitful. But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.”
Matthew 13:3-9, 18-22

I have shared before that ALL of these were "seed", no? Yet, according Christ's illustration here, ALL seed don't grow... or produce.

As he said:

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." John 15:1, 2

And...

“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of." Luke 6:43-45

What of his words:

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34

And...

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me." John 14:1

And...

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

And...

"Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?" Luke 12:25

And most importantly...

Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?" Luke 6:46

WHY... given the times? Trump has "made nice" with Korea. He is "making nice" with Russia." Last week, he invited Iran to meet... and they will. AND... they will ALL "make nice." Why? Because that is what will need to occur for the TRUE "saying" of "Peace and security!" to occur! Everyone has to make nice! But what really happens when people "make nice"? Is it for real... lasting... perpetual? Or is there always the underlying "hate", just held at bay... until something brings it out?

Given the time... and I know you all have heard THAT before, but we were warned who to listen to, what to listen to, who NOT to listen to and what not to listen to... yes? Given the time... we all want to take care as to which "seed" we are. And what kind of "builder":

"As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will show you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.” [/color] Luke 6:47-49

Dear ones, I don't think now is a time to sleep. We are not only going to hear of fires... and floods... and hurricanes... and tornados... but also earthquakes... and wars. These things happen all the time... all over the earth. Yearly, if not monthly. And while all of that is going on... lots more... LOTS more... is happening unseen.

Please. If you're asleep... wake up. If you're awake... try to stay awake.

Peace to you ALL... and to your dear households!

Your servant, sister, and a slave of Christ,

Shel (please... dear ones... luvs... grasp... understand... what he is SAYING... and do it. If he says do not worry/be anxious about ANYTHING... then... Please...)

Peace to you all today as our Lord gives it.

As our dear sister shared ( peace to you) there truly is no reason at all to worry or be anxious. We are told ALL these things are a sign that the kingdom of Jah is at hand." It is one of the things we were told to pray for in the model prayer. " Let your kingdom COME!"

All these things are a beginning of the pangs of distress and MUST occur before the end. So what is there to worry about?

Being overly worried and anxious ( Luke 21:34,35) is a snare, causing us to be taken off guard as in Noah's day. Also not paying attention nor understanding what is taking place behind closed doors that Jah IS maneuvering in his own time. Remember He is in control. It is JAH that holds back the four winds. It is JAH that puts it into the heart of the wild beast to devastate that harlot.

It is a time to keep awake, pay attention, listen to and obey our Lords voice and trust him when he told us " But as these things start to occur ( so no trying to stop or worry about these things) raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near!"

What a wonderful promise. Do we truly believe it?

Love to you all, your sister felow servant and slave of our Wonderful Lord JAHeshua MischaJAH,
kim

Ooh apologies if my comment led to any misunderstanding!

Calling a situation "worrying" is a turn of phrase really. Just an expression of sadness for any caught up in such, and especially any of the body. It's very true that there are many 'worrying' situations in the world today and yet more to come, and worse. We can't personally get bogged down with worry/anxiety in them, but we do acknowledge they aren't pleasant for those affected.

Yes! I agree completely my sister.

Peace to all
