Nice to see that all is well with everyone, though Loz, you must be feeling a bit discomfited since that job didn't work out.

I'm afraid everything's far from ok here!

I am inundated with builders, and have been for several days....actually weeks really with a bit of a break in between. The woodwork on doors and windows has rotten right through in places.

We've been here for 27 years, some of my children grew up here, but the good news is that it's a long term tenancy, so the expense is not mine. The bad news is that the choice of when to undertake repairs has not been mine either, and so things have gone too far. Electrical work in the kitchen and other repairs mean that the house is currently scarcely habitable during the day.

I put myself into exile over lunchtime, unable to face yet another sandwich without so much as a cup of tea, and had lunch in the town. My first ever Quesadilla and re fried beans, bought out of curiosity, but enjoyed nonetheless.

However, added to all that and the problems that put me in hospital in June come the doctors's discovery that my blood is all wrong, so there's a string of further investigations to come later this week.

I don't feel too bad though! Ok, really!

:)

Good morning!

Glad you got to try a quesadilla, Char. I love them... and I haven't made them in a while, so I think I'll add that as supper one night this week!

Sorry that you are going back for bloodwork. Hopefully they get everything sorted for you.

Loz, yes... it feels good doesn't it? To be ABLE to keep it real, because you've learned what you CAN (and cannot) do? I've been there. Different field of work, but it is just a load off.

Hello everyone. Good to see Shelby is back. Loz, so you've quit your post then? Good.

We finally got some much needed rain, and every living thing said aaaaah.
Here's what is happening in my back yard, if the video works.

Good afternoon everyone,

Missed the morning, g:)

Loz, glad you are okay with your decision and moving on. Maybe something closer will come your way, :)

Char, sorry about the health issues. Hopefully they can be resolved and quickly. Waiting on doctors to figure things out sometimes sucks!

Dear A,
Wow! Lots of water all at once. Hopefully there hasn't been too much flooding your way. I notice in other parts, it's been bad.

It's Monday and enjoy your week everyone.

Love and peace to you all
Justmom

Chariklo: Patience, you will need a lot of it. I have a very 'good' experience with workers, and once under similar circumstances, so I can understand what you are through. And I hope there is nothing serious with your health.
ataloa: Is that safe? I am scared! When I was a kid we used to have some flooding of the street. Often it covered the pavement up to our gate, but never made it into our property. Now it will rarely flood at the next junction and pop the lids of the sewage, with all nice things coming out and posing a threat to unsuspected drivers. As you can understand it is not only the damage to your car when your wheel falls into the hole you should be worried about...

On another thread, Shelby said:

This reminds me of a cookbook I have called "Welcome to Junior's; Remembering Brooklyn"

This book is the only thing that made me want to visit Brooklyn (not watchtower!)
Shelby, have you or anyone here eaten at Junior's or I'm not sure if it is still there?
