It is sounding really lovely Zoe! Don't overdo things now, try and pace yourself...but you'll know all about that, sorry. Just reminding.

Sounds really good, Zoe, and looking on the bright side maybe positive things will come out of the landlord and his wife being on hand.

As for me, after a day involving taking three cats to the vet's, going to Tesco's for the first time since I became I'll, and then a trip to the doctor this afternoon, and then another errand a bit later, involving driving, I am now absolutely done in. My son is here for one more day before he goes home to his wife and my granddaughter 250 miles away. Tonight one of my daughters is here too and between them they are cooking the meal...roast chicken, mmmm...so I am well looked after.

However, I'm feeling very tired and the news at the doctor's wasn't totally wonderful. All in all, this may be my last visit here this evening. Still, on the plus side,

I'm home!

Are any of you affected by the extreme heat we've been hearing about on the news, on the Western side of the US? You can lend us some warmth, if you like! Summer hasn't really put in an appearance yet! :D

Zoe, your place does sound amazing. The lake, sound of boats, fresh paint, new carpet, new AC....
What more could a girl ask for, /:) ;)

Enjoy and yes as LOZ says, pace yourself!

Char, sorry such a crazy few days for you. A shift change though huh? Daughter coming now. That is nice. Thanks for the update of the " veggie days"...
I know it is so hard to stay off for a long period of time. But at least for me I don't need a lot in my diet so that helps how I feel a lot of times health wise.
Glad your home as well.

Yes, it is very hot it here. Foe us it is bearable but I hear for some it is not. And fires are underway. That is the scary part :8O

Enjoy your day everyone

Well, I'm western Canada, Char, and it is really hot here too now. First we had a ton of rain, now we have a ton of heat. I haven't heard anything about fires yet, but they'll come.

Rest as you need to, and let your kids take care of you. Gotta be nice that they're cooking for you now!

Peace,
tammy

Isn't it wonderful to have children/loved ones/friends to come and care for us when we're recovering, dear Char (peace to you!)? Being ill is such a personal thing - I don't really even like my children/husband/other dears ones to know much, let alone "care" for me (I get you are the same way! LOLOL!). I am glad, though, that you have the help you have and need, right now, and are benefitting from it, praise JAH!

Peace and a speedy recovery to you!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shellama

Morning, its cool here today, only 60 degrees, yesterday was cool and breezy also but a bit warmer than today. Perfect for moving but definitely not summery. All the heat is west of us I guess. We are considered Eastern Canada here.

Well I was so exhausted last night when we got back from the new house, very stressful for me. I couldn't even cook dinner I was so weary and my MS was acting up. John's stress carries over to me and the landlord and landlady were hovering around working at projects the whole time which we both HATED. It isn't legal for them to be in the place without permission once we take possession unless they ask us but they don't seem to get it.
I will have to inform them of it soon but for now they haven't got all the stuff done so we have to put up with it grrrrr. The landlord seems to be a control freak and telling us to do this and not to do that, geez. He has this really red puffy face and eyes and he is skinny with a big pot belly, diabetic and a chain smoker. He looks like a heavy drinker and like he is on deaths door. They live in Florida for 6 months so that will be good at least.
I am going to stay home today and not go there to recover a bit. John will go and do some stuff there and report back to me.

Anyone want a like new black leather sofa, :(( I have no room for it in the new place, just kills me and when you try and sell it all you get is $50 even though I paid $800 for it.

Have a great day everyone, Hot coffee and tea for us in the cold and iced tea for all of you out west in the heat.

MORNIN' (uh, well, "afternoon") and peace to you all!

Warm here, but hot as "Hades" last night (so I can related to you, dear Sher'f and Tams - peace to you, both!).
Tried to start the day early, yesterday and today (BART is on strike so hubby must get up and leave earlier - had to drive him to the ferry yesterday; let him take the car today so I'm without wheels... kinda... he has an old truck but it almost has to be a "fire" sale somewhere for me to drive it - but I LOVE YOU, Bessie!... that's what we call her; the other is "Lexi"... I digress).

Anyway, too hot to take pups out at the usual time so took to park/walking early both days. Then went grocery shopping afterward today... which is why I am just now online: shopping in general is a deer in the headlights experience for me, and grocery shopping... HOO-WEE! WAY too much to choose from - I stand there, staring at the shelves trying to decide "white or wheat"... but WHICH wheat?? Or "apples or plums"... but WHICH apples? Does this have more sodium than THAT? How much is THIS per pound today, compared to THAT???????

Then ya gotta get home and put it all away which, today, prompted a cleaning of the refrigerator/freezer (resulting ina throwing out of a whole lotta bottles and jars and stuff... because throwing away old snack size jello cups and salad dressing bottles is just not on my radar most days...

Then had to season a buttload of chicken, but that in the oven to bake so I can put in baggies and freeze... 'cause that's pretty much all the tiny mongrels will eat, baked chicken with a smidge of wet and 1/4 cup of dry food...

Then the gardner came... and rang the bell with questions... twice... THEN wanted to come in and see the sprinkler timer...

THEN, had phone calls from two dear/loved ones...

and so I am JUST now able to sit down and say MORNIN' to you dear folks!!

Peace!

Shellama, wonderin' how to tell the dear Sher'f that perhaps he outta wear his long johns to bed, but then thinking maybe he did and just forgot to close up the butt flap... then thinking, nahhhh, too hot for long johns, maybe for ANY johns... and so, yep, the touche was prolly exposed and just asking to be bitten... so, what ya gonna do?... holding out bottle of Campho-Phenique... on her own...

I can't put it in the smilie area until the owners of this place fix (or tell me how to fix) what I DID do wrong. Right now, these ones are borrowed from another mad moose forum. But as soon as I can do it, then i will.

I think i am invisible to them. Maybe you should join the support community, Shelby, and ask them as to this forum, yourself? I seriously think i am invisible, lol!

Peace,
tammy
