That's a lovely story Zoe, and wonderful memories for you too. How sad that he died so young. I can't bear the thought of losing mine.

Hubby is 60 tomorrow. It's true he is well loved. I'm biased of course, but I think he's a wonderful man, a gift from Jah for me after many years of sorrow. It's just sad that my children don't benefit from his love, but their choice. We're walking along to what he thinks is the venue for the wedding so he can drink as much as he likes lol. He's recently started playing guitar and we have some friends who play (very amateurly) at our get togethers. They are all set up to play tonight and invite him up to join them!

Getting excited now!

Loz x

Char, I hope you are going to be feeling better soon and they figure out what might be wrong... and also glad you have your son to take care of you if you need him.

Happy Birthday to Mr. Loz!!! g:)

I am so happy for you with him, Loz. He sounds so wonderful, he loves you, and he is obviously a well loved man.

Zoe, I had to grin a little bit when you said that you were happily typing away while your hubby couldn't figure his new computer out. Its kinda funny, but I can almost see the snarl that was probably coming your way. I agree with loz, best to just avoid. One of the last fights my husband and I had (well, it ended up not being a fight at all), he was annoyed about something and just getting started with the complaining. I just got up from what I was doing near him, and calmly went downstairs to fold laundry. I just left him complaining without me, lol. He came downstairs a few minutes later, looking at me kinda quizzically.

He asks, "Did you come down here just to get away from me?"

"Yeah," I answered, nonchalant and still really calm.

"Hmm," he murmured, then nodded a bit, and that was the end of it.

He just seemed so confused, lol. All I was thinking was that if you want to complain or stress out, then you go right ahead, but I'm not going to be brought down because of it.

I actually also came on this thread just to announce that I love my job. I am really enjoying it. I haven't had a bad night yet, obviously, lol. But another girl from my old work has also come to work here, so now I get to know another server, and not feel so surrounded by strange faces : )

Peace all,
tammy

Very glad you're enjoying your job Tammy, makes working a whole lot easier. And chuckled at the way you handled hubby lol.

Party went very well, hubby was speechless (makes a change lol), lots of fun with lovely people.

Good Morning, we got up late and are feeling a bit more chipper today. It is sunny and 72 degrees but no humidity so its perfect for enjoying and relaxing. We were kept awake last night until 1 AM with fireworks in the neighborhood, very noisy. We could handle it but the dog was panting non stop and barked everytime they did the ground ones that make sizzling sounds. Needless to say we didn't sleep until around 2 AM and then people shouting and laughing after was happening all night too. As I type and its 10:23 AM another loud firework went off and the dog is whining and panting again. We live near a lake so its party time on the first long weekend of the summer.

Loz, Happy Birthday greetings to your hubby, glad he enjoyed his special day. Image

Tammy, yes I did what you did, I left the room and he had no one to complain too, it works. He finally got it fixed up and now today he is better and we didn't have a fight. Almost but I bit my tongue as it was so unfair and all in his mind not mine.

Great you love your job Tammy, not to many can say that. You are a lucky girl.

Have a great Sunday everyone.

Glad the party went well, Loz : )

Sorry for your horrible night sleep, Zoe. Is Monday your moving day? Or Tuesday maybe because of Canada day? You're probably dreading the move, but you must be a bit excited about getting into the new house too. I always hate the packing/unpacking... but I love being able to set everything up the way I want it in a new place : )

Peace,
tammy

We get possession of the house tomorrow but it's not moving day thankfully, we move officially on the 10th. BUT we are already packing up stuff and will move 2 loads of boxes over there tomorrow. We have a big van and a utility trailer so that might get a small dent happening.

It's is now hot and humid so already the moving process is not fun.

Hello everyone...

Happy Sunday,

Everyone's been busy.

TAMMY, so glad your job is going great. I'm sure they know a keeper when they see one.

ZOE, glad your day is better. Getting the new month off to a good start. Moving is stressful enough. Don't need anything else to add to it, LOL ;)

CHAR, sorry your health has been sucky. Hope you can get it resolved quickly. But glad your son is there by your side. I know I would feel better just knowing one of my babies /:) were with me.

LOZ, glad the hubby's birthday was a success. The big 60 !!! Tell him the gang says, Happy birthday.

Had a wonderful weekend. Had fabulous sushi with Shelby and hubby and son for his birthday and went dancing all evening. Great exercise!!!
Saw 3 movies this weekend. It was great to be indoors enjoying movies because it has been really hot weather. Hope your week is good. And hope the packing is going smoothly for dear Zoe.

Love y'all
Justmom g:)

Thanks everyone for well wishes for hubby. Thinking of Zoe packing...I hope you enjoy having a taste of your new home today.

It's still early here and I'm still shattered after the weekend, so I'm taking my cuppa and going back to bed with my kindle.

Oh and White Rabbits everyone!

Loz x

Morning everyone
Its 8 AM and we are headed over to see the new house now, kind off excited about that. We have a van packed full of boxes. I will take my iPad with me so I can keep in touch. We have a internet hub for travelling so I will take that over with me. I will be unpacking boxes for the kitchen while John gets another load and does stuff there.

Its a cool cloudy day, perfect for moving as the humidity whacks me out and him too.

Good morning! I am unfortunately awake already. Two vivid dreams last night. Both woke me up. One at 5:30am (which coincides with my hubbies phone alarm, that I had to find and turn off, lol) and the other about half an hour ago.

So here I am. I may share the second dream, but in another section.

Zoe, i am excited for you. I agree, some internal pics would be awesome, unless you are saving that until you're all set up.

Our neighbor across the street is doing some work on the rock garden in front of the house that he put in a few years ago. He is changing out the framing, and he will be making sure weeds stop growing, plus he's going to take care of the lawn, and the tree trimming at the same time. Should look nice afterward : )

Peace,
tammy

We are here now, the place is beautiful and clean, freshly painted and brand new wall to wall carpet throughout.
The bad news is that they still didn't install the appliances and they are still working here so the landlord and his wife are underfoot. Grrrrr they should have finished everything, told me it was finished. Oh well we are not moving in yet for 10 days so everything should be good by then. The place is big open concept and tons of big bright windows but there is no basement and the spare bedrooms are small, so not sure where to fit our furniture. A lot is going to have to be sold or given away :( John needs Anton of space for his "man stuff" or we would good.

Beautiful big kitchen but not nearly enough cupboards so a lot of dishes is going to have go in storage.

The central AC was installed Friday which is great for me, back deck has been freshly painted, new roof, the bathrooms are big, lots of cupboards and new jacuzzi tubs and new inserts in the bathtub area.

John went for another load and I am unpacking boxes. Tired already.

The lake is across the street and it's nice hearing the sound of all the power boats running around in the lake.

That's it for now

Zoe, it sounds lovely. I am hearing the boats now, and I can just imagine sitting on the deck, with a nice cool drink, chatting with all of you or reading a book, and listening to the boats on the lake.

*lovely sigh*

Besides the furniture that just cannot fit, you can always get some awesome ideas from Ikea on how to deal with smaller spaces, or lack of cupboards and stuff. Even if you don't have an Ikea, you can get ideas from them, and others do sell the same sort of stuff.

Peace,
tammy

Closest ikea is near Toronto. I am going to buy a cheap pantry type cupboard from Walmart or Canadian Tire to put canned goods in and dry foods, we should be ok with that then.
The thing is we don't need all the stuff we have so it's no big deal, just hard to throw stuff away lol
