Ya'll HUSH yo' mouf', dear Loz (mornin' and peace to you, dear lady)!!!!! "Diet" is a "four-lettered" word, girl, and I think there's something in the rules that say such words are prohibited here and anyone using them risks some kind of "public reproof"!! Well, okay, if there isn't [such a rule] there should be, at least as to that particular word, so let me be the first to publicly "reproof" you for using that utterly profane word!

There are chil'ren up in here, girl!! LOLOLOL!

Even so, di*t, schmiet: a girl's gotta LIVE ev'ry wunst in a while... and you ain't lived until you've had some GOOD "make you wanna smack yo' mama!" BUTT macaroni and cheese! LOLOL!

Peace... and yeah, you GOTTA tell us how you liked it!

Shellamar, on her own, 'specially with all the cussin' and all going on in this post... LOLOL!

Okay, I dun dunit, chikkens (piece t'ya'll!): macaroni n' cheese (from scratch), caramelized hocks, daughter's sweet potatoe casserole, and... roasted brussels sprouts n' garlic!!

Before I show ya'll, tho, I HAFTA apologize to dear tec (peace, chile'!), cuz I messed up on dat recipe! I wuz s'posed to tell you to split the cheese cubes in half... and melt HALF of those... so's you can fold in the OTHER half when you mixes up the pasta, melted cheese, eggs, cream and butter! I am SO sorry! I only remembered as I was making it - I was like, "Wait... did I post to melt ALL [of the] cheese?? Well, if'n I did THAT... how's ya s'posed to get dem creamy POCKETS o' cheese??! Oh, Lordy, I dun tol' that gurl wrong!!"

So, if you made it... and it came out yuck, I am SO sorry, luv! So, okay, here was tonight's dinner (and tomorrow's... and however many other nights I can squeek out of this... and I can squeek a few, 'cause NO ONE should eat this stuff more'n once/twice a week, IF that!

The Mac-N-Cheese (the dish and a small portion on my plate so's ya'll can SEE the creamy pockets o' cheese!):

Some o' THE best sprouts! (an' dey's the GREEN, BRUSSEL-Y kine... not the soggy ol' WATERY kine! SA ducks from shoe thrown by dear WS (wassup, girl, and piece t'yall'... and that's a really pretty shoe, so I might KEEP it! LOLOL!):

And all together... on my late (YUMMM!!):

And there you go! It all whipped up pretty quick (2.5 hours)... but, of course, lots of stuff to wash, now (ARGGH!). Thank JAH for dishwashers (which gets a workout in our house!).

Peace... and "bon appetite" (with your eyes, anyway - LOLOL!)

Shellamar, on her own... and a LITTLE embarrassed over the big-*ssed pics, yeah... LOLOL!

Girl, them hocks were HUMMIN' good! I did dear Q' trick first (peace, dear Q!)... then put them in to bake at 300 degrees for about an hour. SCRUMP-DELI-ISH-OUS!

Can't wait to see yours. Oh! You might want to use half the butter I did (... or maybe not - LOLOLOL!). While I am HOOKED on butter and eat a TON of it... I am not sure I would recommend others do it. Unless, like me, they REALLY like butter!

Peace, luv!

Wow! Looks amazing,

We have some cold nights coming up here this week. Cooking some hearty foods sounds pretty yummy right now.

Thanks for the pictures.

You just reminded me again of that pasta recipe we had with you. I have no idea what it's called but its...

Chicken thighs diced small
Onion
Garlic
Mushrooms
Sherry cooking wine
Cup of Ragu spaghetti sauce
Salt
Pepper
Pat of butter
Little cayenne pepper

Cook and simmer
Pour over linguine and top with Parmesan or Romano cheese.

Super simple!

Love ya Justmom

And the verdict is:

Oh my!

(said in my best George Takei impression)

Peace, and thank you Shelby for this recipe!!

I added a bit of havarti as well to the other cheeses, because I didn't think I would be able to find Velveeta... but I managed to find Velveeta today, so that was just a bonus!

Er, ummmmm... is that "oh my" as in "OOH, YUM," dear tams (peace, luv!)... or as in a "Well, errumina... yeah, ummm, that really was some recipe, Shelb, but, um errumina... not really OUR family's kinda thing"... "oh my"? LOLOLOL!

Ya don't gotta answer if'n ya don't wanna... but I'm thinkin' that if'n ya don't, folks'll (well, me) kinda think it was the latter - LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!

Peace, luv... and hope it was the first "oh my"... but will totally not be offended it if waren't! LOLOLOL!

Oh... it was definitely the first 'oh my'. I loved it, and I mean I loved it... I am totally stuffed (and I made the big thanksgiving size). Hubby thought it was all right (but ate every bite, and all right from him is high compliment!). Between the two of us, almost half of it is gone... so yeah, that has to say something ; )

I didn't expect the kids to like it... not their thing... and I was right, lol.

Peace,
tammy

LOLOLOL! Your hubby is like my hubby, girl (mornin' and peace to you!): when it comes to food "all right" means good and "good" means "excellent"! LOLOL! And the kids sound like the grandkids here: if the Mac-n-cheese didnt come out of a box, it ain't gonna be liked. One baby even took it a step further: when his mom brought home some restaurant style, made with WHITE cheddar he was like, "Uh-uh, no. It ain't YELLOW!" and so he wasn't gonna touch it! LOLOL!

Husbands and kids tend to like our cooking/fare... and often balk at eating anything different... so I totally get it! Glad YOU enjoyed it, though! LOLOL!

Peace!
