Well, I must say Miz Shelby you have me mighty confused, you mention that your house has a basement, but you "crawled under the house", how the heck does a house have a basement, yet you can crawl under it? You got to school me on this one gurl . . .!

Wow Shelby, sounds like you are quite the handy-woman ::))

Glad you got your home office all set up. John does all that stuff, he is better at it and he is shorter than me, and of course more mobile. We now have a crawl space also, that is our basement. First time without a full basement ever so I know how difficult it is to do stuff in it. Ours is gravel floor but very dry and clean but not great for crawling.

Lol, Shelby... I can't believe you did all that. I would have hired someone... or gone without ; )

Although I really DO like it when I figure things out and do them myself. But that doesn't happen very often with things like this. Good job!

Peace,
tammy

My house is four different "levels", dear Miz Shirl (peace, luv!): from the "first" floor (front door level) there are two levels up (the farthest, we call the "way up") and one level down (the finished "basement," which we call the "way down"). My office is now in the "way down"... as is the door to the crawl space (which goes under the "first" floor).

I can be a little handy, yes, dear Zoe (peace to you, as well!). I prefer that kind of stuff to the "domestic" stuff (although I don't mind the latter too much). My dad could fix anything and I learned a lot from him, as well as during my career as a housing manager (you learn stuff supervising maintenance folks).

Nahh, I had to do it myself, dear Tec (peace, chile'!). No WAY I was gonna pay $60 hour to run a couple of cables/lines under my house! Girl, that's a couple/pair of SHOES!! LOLOLOL! The first line took me 15 mins/second took me 10! I saved $120 ('cause there's a one-hour minimum!)... and so used that money to "trick" out my office a little bit more!

I LOVE MY OFFICE! LOLOLOL! It is SO cool!

Peace... and hasta manana!

I think we need to see some of this Shelby-made home office!

Peace,
tammy

Good for you Shelby. None of my crawl spaces were ever that clean and roomy.

Which pup is that curled up, claiming her (his?) spot in your office?

Peace,
tammy

Ooh gorgeous office Shelby! Loving the desk lamp, and the TV stool too! Very homely space. Will be round for a coffee and chat in there!

Loz x

That's the "baby", Miss Layla, dear tec (mornin' and peace, luv!). All three were there just shortly before I snapped the pics but two heard a noise and ran to see what was up (the gardener out front). And yep, got cha'll up on the 'puter.

It IS very "homey," dear Loz (mornin' and peace to you, as well!). That kinda is my decorating style: a "gollymoffrey" of mismatched things that are all on the comfy side. I call it "Early Mart": flea mart, WalMart, SaveMart... LOLOL! The pups LOVE it... even more than the TV room (YAY!!)!

I'll try to get the art hung today/tonight (the rose is some of dear hubby's photography).

Peace!

I know! Me too, lol.

I am just as impressed when my husband fixes something too, and saves us the money of a repairman. He has fixed the washer (because I forget to empty the pockets before I throw laundry in, and allowed a quarter to get into something and jam it up) He also fixed an electrical outlet, that kept shorting out the whole front half of the house. He figured it was a loose wire, and he opened it up and fixed it. I love it when he does things like that ; )

Peace,
tammy

Shoot, next time I'll take YOU with, dear 'Mom - LOLOLOL! I'm sure I'll have to go under there again fer sumthin'. Although maybe not - I forgot to add that I fixed one of the heating vent connections whilst I was under there! One "leg" had come undone and so I guess WE pretty much heated up the neighborhood last winter! LOLOL! Air just blowin' out, apparently. No wonder bill was so high! I mean, I knew there was probably a "crack" but I didn't think the whole dang thang had fallen off!

Well, I just went on and "duck" taped* the HECK outta that joint connection - I mean, since I was already under there n' all. Wrapped half a spool 'round it, I'm sure, and so I don't think it's coming apart for at least another 10-15 years (praise JAH!) - LOLOLOL!

Peace, girl, and I'll let you know when to bring yer coveralls! LOLOL!

Yo' sistah,

Shellamar

*I used Duck Tape brand duct tape

I know! Me too, lol.

My "skills" are just the byproduct of being the offspring of a turbo diesel mechanic who could (and often did) fix almost anything, dear tec (peace, chica!)... and expected his children, even the girls, to be able to do so, too. Given that I was the son he always wanted (before my brother was born), and my sister was autistic, a lot more was passed on to me. To my brother, too... but I took an even greater interest in/shine to fixing stuff than my brother did (although, he can fix almost anything, too!).

I WISH I was more artsy like my mom was (painted, crocheted, did wonderful pottery), but I'll take "handy" like my dad, too! LOLOL!

Peace!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shellamar

We love you just the way you are!!!!

Still being amazed after all these years the things you've experienced.

Okay then.....

Maybe if you train me, this could be a future career for us!
