I made baked potatoes last night for our supper, I love them. I poke holes in them, coat them with olive oil and sea salt and bake for an hour. Then I split them and top with butter, sour cream and grated cheese. That is a whole meal for me but John had left over chicken with them. Yum.

Tonight I made Chilli for supper with a spinach salad and garlic bread.

Silly me, it's a baked potatoe. Thanks for that ::))

I love them as well for dinner ZOE. I buy the giant ones and then top them with any meat, veggies, chili, cheese, whatever, turns it into a wonderful easy dinner.

Thank for that Loz,

Love Justmom

I LOVE (making and eating) quiche, dear Loz (peace... and, hmmmm.. might be time to make a couple...). And I LOVE baked potatoes (well, ANY kind of potato, actually - garlic mashed is my favorite, though. No, that's not true - french fried are my favorite! No, THAT's not true: "smothered" in a tiny bit of bacon* fat, with caramelized apples and onions, a bit of sage and dill, and crumbled bacon*... now, THAT's my favorite way to eat potatoes! I digress - LOLOL!).

I wish I could eat 'em with butter AND sour cream, dear Zoe (peace, dear lady!). I can do the butter (and a lot of it... and it must be butter - no plastic "butter", like margarine or oleo... blech!!... along with bacon* crumbles, but for some reason NOT cheese!)... but not the sour cream. I was hooked on that stuff for YEARS (dear 'Mom might remember: BBQ chips and "sourly" cream was a regular treat of mine! LOLOLOL!). Now, I treat it like some treat drugs, tobacco, alcohol: I'm afraid one good spoonful... and off the slippery slope I'll slide, right back into a "pint" - LOLOL!

But, yeah... and with a really GOOD steak (medium rare)! SLURP!!

I was gonna make grilled pork chops with applesauce and au gratin potatoes with baby green peas and bacon* for dinner tonight... but dear hubby said he'll have his leftover steak quesadilla from lunch. WHOOO-HOOO! No dishes to wash! I LOVE that guy! Did I also mention that I love bacon*?

*"Meat candy"... for those who don't know was bacon is (wink)...... and I have a VERY "sweet tooth"

Peace!

Shellamar, on her own... feeling "chatty", in a what's for lunch/dinner? kinda way...

The cooler weather is making me want heavier foods and sweets, LOL!!!!!
Course, I love sweets year round. But hot foods and baking are sounding pretty yummy right now.

Thanks for all those ways to eat taters!

Peace!

Finally after begging and struggling for 8 years I finally found a doctor who understands the pain I am in and why. I went to a new neurologist today and she did not hesitate to prescribe Pain Medication for me. I didn't even ask for it. She spent over an hour with me and going over the actual MRI and saw that I have nerves that are pinched and bulging discs.

I start taking it tomorrow, here is hoping it works. I will be taking Lyrica which is for nerve pain and Celebrex which is for inflammation pain (osteoarthritis).

The only negative is that I am very afraid of side affects, the Lyrica causes weight gain and swollen feet and hands but only on high doses. I sure don't need that and the pharmacist told me it won't be an issue right now as I will be on very low dose for now.

I am feeling a bit more Hopeful today!!

I hate pain and so I hope you get some relief soon, too, dear Zoe (peace, luv!). Pain... of ANY kind... can suck!

Peace!

Oh, I'm so glad you found a doctor who is willing to LISTEN. Sometimes, it is all about the doctor, isn't it? The ones who think they KNOW and so don't listen to you (the whiny, puny human who is so much less intelligent, and certainly doesn't know her own body as well as the doctor does)... verses the ones who actually listen.

If you KNOW that you are in pain or that something is wrong, and your doctor doesn't listen... then find another doctor. (not so easy to do, i know, when many doctors have a huge patient load and won't take more; or even at the hospitals... some give you a reputation and then NO ONE listens)

So I am SO glad that you found one to listen to you, Zoe. That is a huge battle right there.

Peace to you!

tammy

I'm so happy for ZOE....

Can't imagine how long its been going on. So glad that they are listening as Tammy mentioned.

I took Celebrex for a while ZOE, and it did help a lot for inflammation. And I didn't notice any side effects myself on this one. I don't know about the other one though.

Glad there is relief in sight!!! /:)
