Might as well do one of these too.

So what have you watched? What do you love? What would you recommend? Conversely, what would you NOT recommend?

Peace!

Couple/few suggestions:

Go see:

42, The Jackie Robinson Story (really good)
The Call (Halle Berry and really very good)
The Croods (VERY cute and funny!)

Maybe:

Olympus Has Fallen (if you don't mind the strong suggestive propaganda)

Fell asleep (but was under the weather, so...)

Admission

Enjoy!

Shellama... on her own...

Movie enthusiast here! All genres, Mrs Smith and I will watch almost anything.

Watched Savages last weekend. We enjoyed it. Mercifully John Travolta's part was not big so it was more watchable. Strong characters, gritty filming style, and del Toro plays a wonderfully creepy bad guy.

Planning on seeing Oblivion this weekend.

I love movies!

Can't wait for the new Star Trek film next month!

Meanwhile, my all-time favourites are all the Star Wars films, and Lord of the Rings films including the Hobbit. I love A River Runs Through It, and an awful lot of Westerns, old and new, from the many James Stewart films to Dances With Wolves and basically anything with the wide open spaces and cowboys and probably John Wayne or Randolph Scott or anything of that ilk...the old Westerns. Even the black and white ones...fine by me! :)

And of course, so very many more....

Chariklo, how about a combination of your two favourite genres: Cowboys and Aliens

Thought that some good fun!

Haven't heard of that one. Is that classic, recent, new release, or coming soon?

It's a film that was shown in 2008. It is remarkable for its vast scope in locations.

It is about the interaction between a child and a patient and is filled with multiple mini-stories. If you read about the movie on Wikipedia you might find some neat trivia ;). You might find the entire movie in Youtube :P or find it on Netflix or other streaming services.

Just watched the trailer, and it looks amazing! Reminded me of Pan's Labyrinth for some reason. I'll seek it out. Our local DVD shop has a massive catalogue I'm sure I'll find it.

Thanks for the recommendation!

Sorry mate, I meant the one that came out a couple of years ago. Will the two be connected? The trailer you posted has strong echoes of the original Superman movie with Christopher Reeve.

And by the way, it looks great. Watchmen rates as one of my favourite movies / comics so the similar style brought to the Superman story is very appealing.

We watched Oblivion over the weekend, and we both really enjoyed it. I love me some good science fiction and I thought they did a great job of it. Interesting story, and I particularly liked the music. Those massive booming tubas got the theatre shaking. The stand out for me was the computer effects. Absolutely outstanding, and the best I have seen for a long time.

The last movie, Superman retursn, was OK at best.
Special effects were great, but I wasn't too happy with the storyline or casting.
