Oh, c'mon, Sher'f, dear (peace, luv!)... SURELY it was a "gift". Y'know, from some poor "grateful" schmuck whose child Mr. Herd resurrected... no, wait, healed... no, wait, cleansed... no, wait, fed... no... wait... he didn't do any of those things, did he? Well, okay, maybe he helped the schmuck get a sweet deal on some Internet service through the WTBTS-owned (if not outright, then certainly behind the scenes) Internet service we recently learned of. SURELY, that's got to be worth giving someone a gold Rolex (have you SEEN the cost of Internet service??).
I don't know what it costs up there in YOUR neck of the woods, but down HERE it's almost highway robbery! Of course, you also get served some phone and cable along with that Internet "feast"... which I don't think the folks in the vicinity of the WTBTS get with THEIR Internet "meal"... but still - having someone on the inside give you cheap, heck, maybe even FREE Internet?? Worth a gold watch, I'D say. Maybe even TWO.
So, I wouldn't doubt that if we watched Mr. Herd's wrist a bit more we might see that he has a WHITE gold one, too! 'Cause you KNOW most elderly New York men are DAPPER dons - hats, gloves, long cashmere costs... and the dudes from Brooklyn being NO exception (indeed, probably more so than most!). So, we shouldn't be surprised to find out that Mr. Herd actually has wunna dem fancy maHOGany ('cause they LIKES dem sum maHOGany, dem Crooklyn dudes!) watch box with SEVERAL pieces of bling to choose from! One for regular days, one for SUNdays, one for this kind of assembly, another for that kind of assembly, one for really IMPORTANT conventions... one for Annual meetings... oh, and you KNOW they hafta have one for those special European rich cat investor conferences the WTBTS is a member of.
Anyone who is surprised that these dudes are livin' in grand style... is really not paying attention. At all.
