Which scripture it is that states something like 'If there's anyone sick among you, put oil on their head and pray over them?'

Well I guess that doesn't really matter, I need to do this, my girlfriends mother is in the hospital, and she's declining, so it appears.

My question is this: What type of OIL is used for this prayer? and Has anyone every done this? and what kind of prayer does this require? Please help

Just seen the second part of your question, Voices.

This is done in the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican and probably Episcopalian too. Possibly the Orthodox and Coptic churches also.

The oil used is the Oil of the Sick, I think. Oil consecrated for that special purpose. It is a very effective sacrament. I have received it, when very seriously I'll, and I know others who have too. I have never known it not have a very great and good effect.

The sick person is anointed with the oil in a sign of the Cross on the forehead, and if I remember right, also in the palms of the hands.

Why not simply use the "oil" of "exultation" (Psalm 45:7; )... "applied" with a little faith ... and a little love and mercy... dear Voices? (Matthew 17:16-20; Acts 3:1-9)

Does that mean to allow the glory of God's name to be sanctified or proven correctly? as a result of the healing process?

like, something like 'let this occur so your name be known, that you are alone God and your son Jah-Eshua the path and Truth and light?'

I'm not sure i undersatnd, She's declining bad, not able to even hold a glass of water, confused like crazy...not really responsive.. Arianna's freaking out, her dad's been crying...it's a horrible situation.

We're not sure if this is a 'phase' ...or further down the spiral situation. it's confusing, scarey and causing a huge situation in the family.

It depends what you want, Voices, and the circumstances, as well as the wishes of the sick person, if they are well enough to make a choice.

There are many natural organic healing oils on sale these days; you can buy them online e en if you don't have that kind of shop near you.

You can choose a sweetly scented oil derived from a healing herb. Pray before hand and ask Christ to bring healing to the sick person. At the same time focusing in prayer on how Christ healed the sick. Hold on to your faith in him, ask for healing in his name, and believe that healing will take place.

There is every likelihood that it will.

He also knows our true motives and that of the heart of the individual involved.

Ask in faith and that His will be done

Either way, thank you for your words. I will go now, I have a 3.5 drive to get to the hospital. I tried calling your number shelby, said it's not accepting calls and your home number i had from back in the day, kept going to machine.

No biggie, you responded. I thought i'd call since, this was 'life and death' versus 'HOLY SHIT I'M HAVING A PANIC ATTACK/ANXIETY FREAK OUT MOMENT!'

Dear Voices,

When you do this, absolutely just know that healing will come. But don't expect a total cure, because that may not be God's plan.

However, healing may also come in the form of reduced pain, or calm, or acceptance, or anything of that nature, and it will be real healing nonetheless.

As to the whys and how's, best not to think too mechanically. Trust in God's great love and mercy and all will be well.
