May you have peace!

About a week ago (give or take) my Lord tried to teach me something about the prostitute and the body that Paul spoke about in 1Corinthians 6: 12-20, reminding me of who these words actually refer to. But I set it aside, uncertain that I had heard correctly in that brief moment, and then forgot about it to begin with. Well, I have been discussing BTG with someone elsewhere. That person is adamant that the word translated into adultery does not mean adultery because it is also translated as sexual immorality or fornication (of course sexual immorality/fornication means illicit sexual relations - and that includes adultery https://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/le ... 4202&t=KJV).

Now while I am not that great at researching deeply into the original greek except by looking at blueletterbible (others here are much better at that research than I am), I did ask my Lord how else I could show that this person that BTG is an adulteress.

He reminded me of how she boasts in her heart that she sits as a Queen. (Rev 18:7) More than that, He reminded me that she boasts in her heart that she is a Queen who is not a widow and will never mourn... because she is boasting that she is the Queen of a King who will never die. That King of course is Christ.

**

In any case, looking up the word adultery and seeing that it is the same word that has been translated as sexual immorality in other places reminded me of Paul, considering that he often speaks of sexual immorality. Then I started to wonder that perhaps he might have meant something other than physical sexual acts. (Plus, he said that uniting with a prostitute is worse than other sins because it is a sin against the body. Him focusing so much on this never made much sense to me, since the flesh counts for nothing. A sin it may be, but worse than other sins? But I thought it might just be a hang-up from his former days as a Pharisee)

Then I remembered what my Lord had said to me a few days earlier about Paul, the Prostitute and the Body (I am going to capitalize where it is not capitalized in the text, according to what the Spirit has shown me):

The Body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord. By His power God raised the Lord from the dead and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ Himself. Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a Prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. Flee from sexual immorality.

And this is what I received from the Spirit:

The Body Paul speaks of is the Body of Christ (of which we are members).

The Prostitute that Paul speaks of is the great Prostitute: Babylon the Great!

"Come, I will show you the punishment of the great prostitute who sits by many waters..." Rev 17:1

**

(... and as we gave learned, if we become members of BTG, then we are sharing in hers sins and her adulteries/sexual immoralities; hence "Come out of her, my people!")

**

I never saw that before my Lord showed me this. I am not sure if Paul understood this himself... though he may have, considering that we have the warning from Peter that Paul speaks of things that are hard to understand, which ignorant men twist.

Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort... 2Peter 3;15, 16

Either way - whether Paul understood or not - this is what my Lord showed me about the Body and the Prostitute that Paul wrote of.

And we do have an example from Paul in Ephesians where He is describing husbands and wives, but at the end, he states that he had actually been discussing Christ and His Bride. Ephesians 5:32

In any case, I thought that was really interesting and I am to share with you what I received from the Spirit.

Peace to you all and to your households!

May all who wish them be given ears to hear so as to hear the Spirit and the Bride say to you, "Come!" May all who thirst and all who wish, "Come! Take the free gift of the water of life!"

Your servant and sister and fellow slave of Christ,
tammy

Thank you for sharing this, dear Tams (peace to you, dear sister!). Nothing to add to what you shared - totally got the truth of it.

If your discussion mate had difficulty here, though, his/her head might really spin when you share who (or what) the "women" that John spoke of at Revelation 14:4 are.

Or maybe not, as knowing who the "MOTHER of the Harlots" is a start. I mean, "she" either has sons... or she has daughters. Since "harlots" tend to be women, stands to reason she has daughters.

And since reason says they're daughters, it also says... wait for it... women. And since a man can't defile himself with his own wife, it must be "women" who are NOT the wives of those at Revelation 14:4 .

Of course, there are those who would say, "No, it means they never had relations with ANY (human) woman", because of the reference to "virgins," but they are in error, for three reasons:

1. Again, even if these didn't remain fleshly virgins, IF the woman they had relations with was a LAWFUL wife, no defilement would occur;

2. There was no law against marriage so that one who DID marry (and thus had relations with a woman, his lawful WIFE) defiled himself by doing so; and

3. Paul, who most follow (vs. Christ) SAID who the "virgins" were, per se, at least as far as he was concerned, when he wrote to those in the congregation in Corinth:

"I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. 2 Corinthians 11:2

You might ask your discussion mate whether any of the Corinthian christians were married (or women - LOLOL!)... and if so, how could Paul promise them to Christ as virgins (whether men OR women). Given the content of the 2ND of his letters to that part of the Body (canonized as "1st Corinthians"), I think s/he will be hard-pressed to say none these dear ones were married.

Indeed, fleshly marriage was a major topic in that letter; however, fleshly marriage was not mentioned at ALL in his 3rd letter (aka "2nd Corinthians"). SPIRITUAL marriage was almost the entire point.

So what? So, a man "defiles" himself when he joins his body to harlot (which, by the way, excludes concubines, 2nd+ wives, etc.). Thing is, BTG is not only an adulterers AND fornicatrix... but a HARLOT. As are her "daughters."

Is there a difference between a prostitute and a harlot? There is (despite the Greek rendering depicting them as the same). Remember, there were temple prositutes, for the priests' use. But there is a difference a difference between a prostitute... and an out-and-out whore (my apologies, dear ones - no offense intended).

A prostitute will sell his/her body for money. Often, it's their only means of living and in most cases it really is the only choice (to be able to feed themselves/family). A prostitute most probably WOULD do something else if s/he could... and make a "decent" living (i.e., enough to eat/live, etc.). I am excluding "high-end escorts", here.

A harlot... or out and out whore... doesn't need the money but is just nasty that way. Her (or his) motive is entirely different, based purely on some manner of self-gratification which may or may not be related to sexual desire. But it's never money (and prostitute services aren't free).

We KNOW BTG didn't/doesn't need MONEY. Remember, she considers herself a QUEEN. And it's the merchants who get rich by means of HER. What does she want? "Wine." The "blood... of the holy ones." THAT is what she sells HER "body" for. And it's what her daughters sell their bodies for: bring me/us the blood of the holy ones... and I will make you kings (of the earth).

And history has proven this true as how many kings has she and her daughters raised up? Secularly, militarily... and religiously.

She's a filthy whore... harlot... because of her adultery and fornication... and why.

Peace to you, luv, and to your dear household!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shel

Agreed! And peace to you both today,

She doesn't want or need money. My God, look at her wealth! It is BLOOD that she sleeps for. WOW! So sad, so disgusting.

Thank you both for this, Love your sister in Christ.

Yes, that makes sense, Tammy.

This is something I've wondered about for quite some time. What does it mean to be a member of her? What if we left and have made public declaration denouncing her, but our name is still on her rolls?

I'm thinking that it would not matter to God, as that is part of man's scrolls and has nothing to do with Him. But as far as the Great Tribulation, I do not know if the government would go by membership rolls - probably not. I am thinking of sending a letter to make sure they know I am no part of them, anyway, as I do not know if I have been df'd or not.

Not that I think it's necessary, dear At (peace to you, dear sister!), but since it's what they make their new converts do, I'd say turn about is fair play. They reap what they sow - LOLOL!

Peace to you (and to your dear household)!

YSSFS of Christ,

Shel

Good morning dear At and Shel, peace.

I never had to do this cuz I was pretty much a born-in BUT....I remember studying with people and hearing elders tell new ones before they could get baptized that they had to write a letter to their former religion publically denouncing them and supposedly giving a witness as to why they have left " Babylon the Great."

So I agree with shel, it's only fair play! For me personally I did both. Wrote letters...and asked questions... with no response ( of course).
And met with the elders.

I felt of course. Do what they taught me to do. I Personally knocked on doors and sought out individuals feeling at the time I had a life saving message. So I felt out of love, the least I could do is return the favor. And of course obedience to the direction our Lord was giving me.

Enjoy your day ladies, love your sister and fellow servant of Christ, Kim

Thanks Shelby and Justmom - yes, I should do as they taught me! When they had me write to my former church, I think I only did a one-liner, asking them to remove my membership. But I may elaborate a little for the watchtower, even though no one will read it, but it will be a seed.

Perhaps, as is recorded at Matthew 23:3, dear At?

Peace to you, dear, dear sister!

Yes, Shel, that is exactly the one I was thinking of. And you're right, Justmom, I do not know for sure no one will read it, so I will have to be careful with what I say.

Also, this thread has made me think a little differently about prostitutes than I did before.
