How do Jehovah's Witnesses feel about the announcement that the public edition of the Watchtower and Awake! magazine is being reduced to just 3 issues a year and the number of books, tracts, and online content are being discontinued?

Quite interesting!

Since for over a hundred years the WTBS has used the Watchtower magazine as the instrument the governing body's uses to " dispense food at the proper time."

So what now? Starvation in sight! ???

All pun aside....

How truly sad they still do not understand the meaning of ECCESIATES 12: 12-14

" To the making of many books, there is NO end. And much devotion to them is WEARISOME to the flesh."

They are feeling pretty weary I must say!

And of course they are being convinced it's all for the good!

While there is yet time.....

" Get out of her my people, if you do not want to share with her in her sins and receive her plagues."

Hope all is well,

Peace and love to you all, your sister fellow servant and slave of Christ,

Good Morning everyone and thank you Kim for this New Light post.

I hadn't heard about this at all. Did they give a reason for this? Is it just the Public not having printed issues or are they cutting back on the issues for the members to?

My wife explained to me that they're cutting back on only the public editions. 12 more issues (6 WT, 6 Awake), each one covering a single-topic. These will be printed over the next two years, 3 of each next year, then 3 of each the year after. After that, they'll reprint these as needed. Lots of other printing cutbacks. The explanation is: too much to read, too many presentations to remember. Cutting back on other printings, too. Eliminating normal publications in favor of "simplified" versions. Most things going digital. Focusing on and expanding video production instead of printing.

Of course the spin is around how beneficial this is instead of the reality that printing is no longer cost-effective these days. I asked: what about third world countries who don't have easy internet access. No answer there.

Also, 2017 is the last year the Yearbook will be published. Plenty of experiences on the broadcasts, so they say. Statistics will be published on the website.

That's pretty much all there is to know.

I can't help but think of what they've said many times:

BACK in August, 1879, this magazine said: “‘Zion’s Watch Tower’ has, we believe, JEHOVAH for its backer, and while this is the case it will never beg nor petition men for support. When He who says: ‘All the gold and silver of the mountains are mine,’ fails to provide necessary funds, we will understand it to be time to suspend the publication.” [w59 5/1 p. 589

Not even WatchTower, cares about the WatchTower Message...LOL!!

Whether JW`s know it or not, this is good news for JW`s.
No more storing 95% of WBT$ Literature in JW Homes, because nobody wants it.
JW`s around the world.
Can start reclaiming space in bedrooms, basements, and garages in their own homes.

Good-Bye WBT$ Crap Literature!!...
