On the JW.org site, on the main page, is the article, "Jehovah's Witnesses - Who Are We?" I glanced through it and saw this:
"We do our best to imitate Jesus Christ and are proud to be called Christians."

I immediately thought, "Imitate Jesus? In what way? Surely they wouldn't claim to do what he does, only to imitate him in his preaching, right?" The scripture, "Become imitators of me, even as I am of Christ" came to mind. (1 Cor 11:1). So, I fired up my WT Library and lo' and behold, that is the daily text for today. I didn't have to go far to see what they said. Words escape me...



This was from a study article, and this was the question on the paragraph:
Why are you in a position to reveal the Father to others?

My comment here: They really HAVE put themselves in the place of Christ, since Christ said, "All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one fully knows the Son except the Father; neither does anyone fully know the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son is willing to reveal him." (Matt 11:27). JWs DARE to claim to be able to reveal the Father??? Incredulous!

“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees seat themselves in Moses’ seat. So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

“Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteries wide and the tassels on their garments long; they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others."

Well, they cut Christ out of everything else, so why not that too?

I mean, they don't (according to them) need Him for anything at all... just his blood (iron-y in that) for a tit for tat exchange.


"Look at us; listen to us; come to us." <- that is pretty much what they are saying, in claiming to be the mouthpiece (word) of God, the image (through their behavior now) of God, the ark/life (outside of them there is no life), the truth, and the mediator between man and God.


The things that they say and write do not surprise me at all... but hopefully the more blatant they get, the more some will be able to see them for the liars they are, and come instead to CHRIST. Obeying Christ (and therefore also the Most Holy One of Israel), over men.
