I saw this on Facebook today. John Cedar shared it from his JWsurvey forum. More insanity from the GB.

"Hello. Just wanted to share something about the recent conventions. I did go to the convention out of consideration for my husband. I am in the process of waking up after 42 years in this organization.

To sit through the convention was just plain painful, to say the least. I'm sitting there during the last talk and thinking about how this could very well be the very last talk I ever sit through. And guess who was speaking? My very last talk after 42 years! That would be Tony Morris!

Of all people...he made me know for certain that I have not been in the right place for the last 42 years! The talk was about anxiety and I'd like to share a few of his 'insights'.

He said that if you have a problem with anxiety, all you have to do is pray and follow the steps in the Bible to make it go away. Really?

He said its very simple, if you have a problem with it it is because you're selfish and are giving in to Satan and letting him poison your life and relationship with Jehovah.

After a comment about how he loves Southerners (in the US) but they talk too much, he said that the friends have anxiety because they're not forgiving and are leading a double life. He admonished us to stop walking around with a sad face!!! (Did it ever occur to him that people who suffer from clinical depression are doing the best they can and cannot help their 'sad face'? Oh! I guess not!)

He implied that if you suffer from it, you are not putting the Kingdom first. He also said that you are just hurting yourself and if you do that, you're not very bright!!! You are thinking of yourself too much and you should just 'Knock it Off!!!' If you have an 'afflicted spirit', it's your own fault....

Those are the highlights of his shocking, insensitive, and ridiculous part on the convention that just adds up to plain nonsense. And we are not supposed to question a person like this or else???

I can only hope that some of the friends who have been molested as children or those who have a chemical imbalance and have absolutely no choice as to whether they suffer from anxiety did not go home and 'off' themselves!

I was proud in the not too far past, of how far the brothers came in being understanding of this issue and this silly man, in one fell swoop, undid many, many years of progressing toward being more like Jesus in understanding human suffering!!! (Although I'm assuming that the entire Governing Body approved this talk!) Just had to let someone who cares know about this!
