Thanks for posting the link, dear LQ (peace, luv!). A couple/few things:
First, the comment that:
"On the night before he died, [Jesus] instructed his disciples TO COMMEMORATE THE SACRIFICE THAT HE WAS ABOUT TO MAKE."Ummmm... and HOW did he instruct them TO "commemorate" that sacrifice? And WHO did he so instruct? The comment doesn't say "his apostles," but "his DISCIPLES." Uh-ohhhh... aren't ALL Jehovah's Witnesses "disciples" of Christ? I mean, isn't that their SCHTICK? "Go... MAKE DISCIPLES..."?
Indeed, what do THEY quote as him SAYING... to his DISCIPLES?
"Keep doing this in remembrance of me.""Keep doing"... WHAT, though? Well, not what CHRIST said. The comment continues:
"Jehovah's Witnesses invite you, your family, and your friends"... to do... what? To:
"LISTEN... TO A BRIEF TALK...

!"
Not even a comprehensive talk, but merely a BRIEF one! Get in... get out. A talk about... what, though? About what Christ SAID on that night, INCLUDING what he SAID to "keep doing"? Ho, no. No, no, no, dear chikkens, no. No, THEIR "brief" talk is going to be about why Christ's death was so IMPORTANT. Thing is, that death... DON'T MEAN A DOGGONE THING... if one ISN'T IN UNION WITH HIM. And one CAN'T be in union with him... EVEN IF ONE PARTAKES... if one doesn't DO... what he said to DO:
"Why do you call me 'Lord, Lord... but do not DO the things I SAY?"
“If anyone LOVES me, he will OBSERVE (DO) my word (what I TELL him),
and my Father will love HIM, and we will come to him and make our dwelling with (with,
my eye - IN!)
him. Whoever does NOT love me does not observe my words (do what I TELL him)."
John 14:23Oh, but wait... it's not just HIM they ignore/disobey:
"The word that you are hearing is not mine, but belongs to the Father who sent me."So, no, it's NOT as they lyingly teach... that if one ignores the WTBTS and what THEY say, one is ignoring God - it's if one ignores CHRIST... and what HE says... one is ignoring God. Because God SENT him; the MOST HOLY One of Israel, JAH of Armies... did NOT send the WTBTS. Or anyone IN it or connected TO it.
The other thing that struck me... along a different line, though, is, well, man, doesn't that "Jesus" look GOOD!? One would never even THINK he'd taken the "sins" of the flesh of those he healed into THAT body! Not even a PIMPLE on it! And, given the usual appearance of a Nazirite, one would never recognize HIM as one... what with the "groomed" hair an' all... but how they justify NO BEARDS, when the very one they claim to follow sports one in all of their depictions just boggles the mind. No, no, the "difficulty" of shaving doesn't fly. Men (AND women), including those of Israel... were shaving long, long even before my Lord came onto the scene. Most Egyptian men were actually clean-shaven:
Quote:
" The men were generally clean shaven. ... The beard was apparently shaved off, but during the New Kingdom statues of high officials had chin beards, which were somewhat shorter than the pharaonic beard. This mark of authority was so important that
Queen Hatshepsut wore a false beard after becoming pharaoh. During the Middle and New Kingdoms the
shaving was done with copper and bronze razors, metals not renowned for keeping a sharp edge, and shaving must have been somewhat of an ordeal. Only during the Late Dynastic Period did iron razors come into use.
Many men entrusted themselves to professional barbers who plied their trade in public places. "
http://www.reshafim.org.il/ad/egypt/tim ... s/hair.htmOr maybe the WTBTS folks think the Egyptian beards just GREW that way:
http://www.touregypt.net/featurestories/beards.htmY'know... like the hair did (you've all seen the depictions of BALD Egyptians... right?).
To think: the WTBTS would have their oh-so-pristeen males follow the customs of ANCIENT EGYPT... RATHER than that of, say, a Nazirite. Goodness... the imposterism just gets worse and worse...
Goodness, this is why I can barely look at, let alone read, their trash. It's ALL lies, falsehoods, fakes, deceit, lies... fake... deceiving... lies... deceitful... fake... lies... false... lies...
Makes me sick. Literally. Well, nauseated.
Peace to you ALL... and thank you, again, dear, dear LQ, for the link!
YSSFS of Christ,
Shellamar
