I am all for a beautiful bible to surround the holy words with beauty. A locking clasp would be nice and beautiful calligraphy and illustrations. Not the WTBTS though, it seems the plainer the better, its all about the reference tables to guide you to their way of thinking grrrr.
They apparently told everyone not to tell anyone about new bible release for now. Maybe they need to make a bible with a lock so only JWs can read it.

Well, technically, not from ME, dear Ataloa (mornin' and peace, luv!)... because I received it from my Lord - LOLOL! But it won't be the first time they've copied information I've shared, both on a small scale AND on a larger one! Heck, the two study articles of the 10/15/95 WT were plagiarized from a letter I sent them (which they used to change the "separation of the sheep and goats" from 1914 onward to... "well, it ain't happened, yet, folks" - cause it doesn't happen until AFTER my Lord returns... which event occurs AFTER the "great tribulation" - LOLOL!

They did try to say, some time later, that no one person can claim to have given them information, that it comes from several "sources." Funny, they used the same verse comparison chart I gave them, though.

Girl, if folks think they don't scour these sites for "crumbs", they're foolin' themselves. Oh, wait... most of them ARE fooling themselves... or being fooled (by their leaders). My bad.

Yes, they do. My Lord warned me about that before I shared something on jwn a little while ago.

Because they will take truth, draw people to them who are searching for truth, and then taint that kernel of truth with lies. So that those who come to them cannot find life... and those who leave them cringe away from the Truth, because of the way that they have twisted it.

Yes, and I imagine its only getting worse because that have " nothing new" to share and they are getting desperate. I imagine they are looking for anything that will help them cover up their behinds to all the unfulfilled dates and prophecies that are NOT happening since we are coming up on 2014.

They proved that with their book "Bearing Thorough Witness about God's Kingdom". That showed any doubters that the apostles were really members of the Governing Body. Shortly they'll prove that Jacob and his sons were GB members too. Joseph's already being quoted at Assemblies.

I got my hands on one of these new bibles. They're actually quite nice, aesthetically speaking. The picture posted doesn't do it justice. Seems durable... more of the quality you'd see at a bookstore. Some of the language is more readable/understandable, along the lines of the NET Bible, which is good. Song of Solomon was painful in the old NWT, but from a brief glance at it in the new one, it looks like it might be a nice read. But that's about all the "good" I have to say about it. There's a travesty of errors still in it.

The other big news was the JW Library app released this morning on Apple, Google Play and Windows 8 app stores. The app has pretty good navigation. One feature I like is that when you tap on a verse, it will show the verse in the NWT, American Standard, Byington's, King James and Kingdom Interlinear. King James surprised me, but not as much as the Kingdom Interlinear. The Interlinear side-by-side with some verses will make folks start asking questions (e.g. at John 14:14 or Rev 5:10).

It's hard to be objective about both of these. There's a massive gap between WT doctrine/theology and what the bible really says, and it centers around listening to the Christ. Take all the other bunk away, and that's the biggest issue for me. They say they follow the Christ, but they don't even use the God-given name of Christians. I figure all I can do is change how I believe and how my faith is, even if I do have to suffer through their misguided teachings for the time being.

Charliko, quite right. Unfortunately, the mass of JWs don't seem to notice the idolatry of these men. These men have the majority of JWs believing that salvation depends on recognizing them as God's channel. And trying to discuss that with any of them is like talking to a brick wall that hits back.

Ah, well, what can you do, 'cept pray for them... and maybe TRY to help one or two (or three) "see" what they've been missing all this time. Or rather, WHO they've been missing!
