I am not sure our dear Lord ever prayed in public, dear tec (peace, luv!), and that's not exactly what I'm thinking of here. He DID pray in others' hearing... but not on purpose. He would go some distance away, so that he could be private. He did pray FOR them, though; but if he was heard it was because someone (Mark?) probably followed him to see what he was "going to do."
Was John 17 a prayer that was overheard then, rather than given
in front of the disciples? That makes sense, if so.
Even though I can now understand how someone might be compelled to offer up a prayer out of great love (or pity, or sorrow, or whatever, which also stems from love), including being overwhelmed to the point of praying then and there, even if just a quick prayer for mercy and/or forgiveness for someone(s). A sort of 'out of the heart's abundance' type thing. In such a case, then yes of course, we have the law love... as well as "I desire mercy, not sacrifice"... even if the person did act in error (though I am not sure that such would actually BE in error, since as has been stated there is no law against love)
So that is what I meant, and I hope that I did not cause anyone confusion with my words.
I watched some of the video. I did not spend any time in Kingdom Halls though (but I cannot imagine that there would be the 'need' for so many 'spankings' hushing bored children up if that is the way the meetings were taught that they should go, lol). Other than that observation, I leave the rest to all of you.
Peace to you all,
your sister and servant, and a fellow slave of Christ,
tammy
