I received from my Lord that it was Lazarus, the same one who wrote the account attributed to "John", dear Sher'f (peace to you!). When he first told me my Lord said the letter to the Hebrews was written by the "same one" who wrote the account according to "John." So, I assumed John wrote both. I later learned, with the help of another, that John did not write the gospel account but Lazarus did. I did not immediately accept what that other one shared. When I went to debate with him, however, my dear Lord corrected ME... and showed me where that one was right (which one said HE learned it from a book he'd read).
You might be able to "see" the same writer in both in the similar writing styles prevalent from the start of each, "John" and "Hebrews." Keep in mind, both were initially written in Aramaic, NOT Greek, and so what we have now are transliterations. Also, in neither does the writer identify himself (indeed, his great humility was one reason my dear Lord loved Lazarus so much), although Lazarus IS identified by OTHERS (those who ratified his gospel account). But not by he himself.
I hope this helps!
Peace!
YSFS of Christ,
Shel
